Glenhaven spring

Spring board flinging

The weather was iffy all weekend. I ventured over to Glenhaven. MC called me as I was leaving and told me to bring a squeegee as it had just hailed and some spots needed drying out. Half an hour later it was mostly dry, but every 10 minutes or so it would start sprinkling for a minute or so. Everyone was hitting it while they could, there were some great personal motifs going between guys that looked like anarcho pirates, kids in pajama bottoms and one guy with a mustache so big and bushy we could have used it to sweep out the bowl. I was just about to start snapping the local wildlife when another dainty but steady barrage of hail closed out the session for good, or at least another half hour or so., but I left. I should have used the time to read the manual on my flash, cause I kept blowing out the exposures instead of getting a little extra contrast on a gray day like I had hoped.

My apologies to Mike Shearer for making him look like the Pillsbury Dough Boy with a case of leprosy.

Mark was rocking some shoes that were almost glowing. He must be some sort of crazy Tar Heals fan, or maybe gang banger.

LP – Solar powered flashlights? No, but we did just get new screen doors for our submarines.

Mac – yeah I do like the way the clouds look. It was an odd day for sure, alternately getting rained and hailed on. The vibe in the air was that everyone was on borrowed time.

  • Randy, you may not be crazy about these shots, but they capture the clouds really well. There were times on Sat and Sunday when, if this were Kansas, I would have been sure that there was going to be a tornado. It was like the damned End of Days out there. I got chased out of Tigard by hail, only to find Holly Farm dry and skateable for 30 min., until it started up there. No telling where it was going to hit next. I felt fortunate to have skated outside at all.

  • i was kidding there kilwag, have you polish folks got the patent for the solar powered flashlight yet?

Make sure you put frontside inverts on your resume.

  • I worked there on contract three years ago. I do like the shoes. I would however like to take this opportunity to recommend a fine graphic designer named Mark Conahan

    MC doesn’t work there. Duh.

  • MC is a shill for the place he works at. actually the tre is a pretty good durable shoe.

  • You Vans-wearing dudes might actually like the shoes. They have really good board feel and the cushioning seems pretty good so far. They reviewed the Zoom Tre A.D. over at Skate Daily.

They’re using a super flexibility gimmick, that seems like a good idea. I’m not sure about that colorway though, do you think it brings out my eyes? They have better colors coming up
