PDX Death Race 2008

Giant, Giant Slalom

More on one of those other communities I heard rumors of. This video is an event called the PDX Death Race 2008. PDX is the ID for Portland’s airport, for those of you outside the area. No, the race wasn’t a the airport, that would be kind of flat, you know? This was a downhill race that involved some slalom cones that seem pretty far apart, so technically that would be Giant, Giant slalom I guess. Just because they are spaced far apart doesn’t mean it was an easy course by any means. You can see in the footage that the alternating cones were extremely close to the shoulder of asphalt. Looks very burly. After the race footage there is some bonus Coleman slide session footage.

That race is crazed. The crown of the road has some serious drop at the edges and those guys were cranking hard turns off camber.

  • Looks like you need to open your eyes.

  • I just call ’em like I see ’em

CSkate -you are overreacting. Read his comment , he clearly states:

i know its not but that footage looks so sloooooooow.”

The speed of the actual race does not come across on video.

  • I was there and that shit was fast, especially towards the end. Don’t pay attention to hateboard, apparently he’s just better at everything than everyone else. It’s a lot easier to criticise then participate.

  • A

Nobody is saying it wasn’t fast and challenging, just saying the video doesn’t show that. Slalom is hard to photograph and film.

  • If you were there or rode it yourself, you’d know it was fast and challenging as hell to make it clean. Casey did an awesome job of covering it and getting all the crashes – woohoo! Hope to see some of you out next time, check NCDSA.com for upcoming events.

  • Hateboard

    or follow cam at least.

  • A

Yeah it does, zooming in makes stuff look slow for some reason. It could use a board cam view.

  • Hateboard

i know its not but that footage looks so sloooooooow.

Hahaha, uh oh, alternate methods of fun have been discovered!
