Art Godoy choked by a security guard

SOTW 12-31-07: Art Godoy choked by a security guard

Hell, I think this is Art Steve Art. I can tell them apart now but back then… This was from an NSA sanctioned vert and street contest held outdoors in Indianapolis Indiana. It was either 1988 0r 1989, I can’t remember. The Godoys had a reputation for being trouble makers, so I thought it would be funny to pose a shot of Art getting choked by a security guard, who was only too happy to oblige. The effect is kind of ruined by the huge grin on the security guy’s face. Art didn’t seem to be into it, but agreed to play along, I think mostly to thank us for printing a long Godoy interview in a print issue. We were one of the few zines that wanted anything to do with them. Now I’m thinking this might have been Steve actually. Only one of the brothers was there. You know who was there though? Rich from EPM, although I didn’t find this out until last year some time. Anyway, any comedic/editorial brilliance on my part was wasted as I never used this shot for anything until now. Check it out.

Sorry Brad, it was definitely Art. We hung out with him a lot that day. Plus scope the H-Street shirt. Steve rode for Circle A at this time. Aat was there with Tony Mag who was stoked on S&A too. We gave him a S&A boobies shirt which he wears in his part on Shackle Me Not.

And btw EC, fuck you. There you go Randy, I left it alone for 2.5 years.

  • its really incredible pictures jajajjajaj

My second wife was a Gene Vincent fan. Eat your heart out Paige: Be Bop a Lu La

  • Gene Vincent.

“paige Says: And punk rock probably hates you too, EC. The Isley Brothers are hardly your best defense against it

  • JAKEANDANNOY

    REEEELAAAAX!

  • JAKEANDANNOY

    I was just being facetious,Paige.
Forgive me for giving the impression that I give a shit about this conversation.

Love, peace and harmony…. Oh wait, I’m quoting Bow Wow Wow and stuck in the 80’s time warp again… It’s more like a whirlpool or quicksand.

  • Or liken people to Reagan.

  • It’s arguable that being nice isn’t needed to get laid, as the bad guy stereotype is still pretty attractive to many females. If you’ll allow my blanket statement, people who don’t get laid can either be tense and mean or are overly nice and have soft hands.

  • JAKEANDANNOY

“Get laid, Be nice”. I think you’ve got the order backwards Paige. Otherwise they are mutually exclusive.

  • I like the 80s feel. It personally allows me to sort of sound like I know what I’m talking about at the bar when I’m acting older than I am.

And punk rock probably hates you too, EC. The Isley Brothers are hardly your best defense against it–really? Really? That’s all you’ve got?!

Mellow out. Do whatever it takes. Join a group on MySpace for your aggressions. Smoke something. Get laid. Be nice.

  • no no no. only real music was banging with stick against some rock couple thousands years ago. everything after is knock off bullshit .actually i dont care at all. anybody who is capable of stating that some music is the right one is obviously out of his/her mind.

what is more interesting for me (and probably really only for me) is that youtube video is recorded form Czech tv as you can see in the corner of the screen. fascinating isnt it? why would czech tv play such a crap… just teasing you EC. those guys started it and without them we would be shitting in woods and wiping our asses with leaves

  • enemy combatant

Like I said before, you should to listen to some real Rock’n’Roll!

  • A

Really, EC is that necessary? Knock it off, would ya?

  • More digital hardcore and chirpy dance music!

“Enemy, if you don’t like what Randy does”

I never said I didn’t like what Randy does (well except maybe for the punk rock) I said the site was locked in an ’80’s time warp.

You, however, can go fuck yourself.

  • Damienhialation

    What are the 80’s?

  • houseofneil

    hey Randy, I’ll be positive.

Enemy, if you don’t like what Randy does, then why not start your own supercool website where people like you can look at lots of modern day pool and street pictures. Then you won’t have to come to a site that has a lot of 80s stuff on it.

Of course I don’t know you, and maybe you and Randy are friends and this is all a big sarcastic joke. In that case, ignore the above.

  • enemy combatant

Ok, I give up. Just do it!

  • A

    Choose Life!

I mean… love it, or contribute to it and make it better.

  • cold ones

    Where’s the beef?

  • A

    Trickle down…

  • enemy combatant

See, you even sound like a Reagan supporter!

  • A

That’s what happens when you let your magazine subscriptions lapse. Love it or leave it!

  • enemy combatant

The SnA website is locked into some kind of permanent 1980’s timewarp.

  • ..or H-Street, duh.

  • I remember this day, it was Steve Godoy that was at this contest and he was doing a lot of backside ollie airs…and I think he was riding for Krypto and those piece of shit toxic wheels…
