eBay Watch December of 2007

eBay Watch for December of 2007

Sorry this has taken so long. I set it out weeks ago, but none of the decks really excited me too much, so it’s been tough building the enthusiasm to actually sit down and do it!!

This month the column is brought to you by the sounds of The Jam. All Mod Cons actually. Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler are currently touring with 2 other guys as From The Jam. They play all of The Jam classics, and in Jam style, not the hippy crap style that Weller does these days. From hat I hear they put on a kick ass show. I’ve got a ticket for the Chicago show, so we shall see.

  • Good Article man 😉

  • The Dec roundup was great as usual – glad you did it, even if the decks didn’t grab you. Hope to see a January soonish!

  • The Gargoyle isn’t missing a thing. Real off the wall black with reverse colors more or less. A toughy. Stoked on it for sure. Dude threw in an 86 Sacred Cow for a 100 bucks. Check it out at http://www.wheelbite.com.

  • No, I actually rode that model. He should send it to me.

  • A

No probably not. You should just send it to me.

  • I just came across, what I think is an ’83, Veriflex El Gato. Used, but descent, and complete. Does anyone think its worth putting on the ebay?

  • Uncle Wiggley was Tony Mags (H-street) first company. Sea-flex was out of L.A. I think.

  • uncle wiggley? Not in my days at nhs. don’t think there’s a connection, but maybe. funny name tho.

  • Troy should know this stuff?

  • I had the SeaFlex Bob Denike.Huge 11 incher I am sure.Friends had the Kamikaze and the UW Argyle.Would still love to have the Uncle Wiggley.I never new who owned SeaFlex. Was it an NHS company?

  • hi corncobcock (i’m fired).

  • A

Sea-Flex was the brand. I don’t know who owned it.

Every board you named was owned by someone in my crew at the same time. Who are you really?

    Freakin plate of shrimp coincidence.

  • I really liked the vision Animal Skins series, and I saved up to get the Uncle Wiggly Argyle I thought it was punk in a real new wavy Church Of The Sub-Genius Devo would ride this kinda way but what did I know I got busted for ditching class to give myself a Mohawk in the boys bathroom, so…thats more like 82-83 not mid, and Wasn’t the Boom-Cat Bob Denike’s model or was it just his company?

  • corncobcock

    hi brad.

  • Cheers Neil. I like your details about the Sims Kamikaze, especially when you exposed that dumb mid-80’s phenomenon that I was a guilty party to: that non-pro endorsed decks were somehow inferior. I can remember thumbing through Thrasher mail-order ads like Val-Surf and Gremic looking to order one of my first decks and there was no way I was gonna settle for a Kamikaze, a T&C “Burst” or similar… stupid. In retrospect that Seaflex Boom-Kitty I considered would have been nice!

  • Awesome ebay watch! thanks a lot.

  • thanks i was not sure if it was going 2 make it this month.love it as always.great job.

  • Neil, I didn’t believe it either when I saw it.
    Sold December 18.
    winning bidder otisgeo
    seller mbenton7p8d
    price $6099.
I still have the page archived but others would have seen it. The big nos Martinez was buy now $950 in case everyone thought 50 bucks was a steal. Cheers Pete.

  • houseofneil

When? That would be a new record, so I can’t really believe that.

  • Caster Chris Strople deck only in average condition went for $6,099.Thought that was worth a mention.

  • i remember that groholski, i think there was an ad for it with him doing a gymnast plant. id like that one.

  • A

Lance Mountain on a red vinyl couch and a Gonz scribble on notebook paper. I think that says it all.

I had four Nash rip offs of that Sims kamikaze. i thought it was the height of new wave fashion in 1984. Although in retrospect, I’m not sure how I made the connection between new Wave and WW2 military flags…

That Groholski graphic has got to be the worst ever for a legitimate skateboard company. Was the entire art and marketing department sick that week? The intern must have signed off on that one.

I can’t believe there is a mint JFA Don Lincoln model out there. I used to see that n adverts ind think WTF???!!!! Actually, there must be quite a few NOS mint Don Lincoln’s out there, as I can’t imagine they sold very well.

Great breakdown of the G&S art direction, which was totally generic except for Blender’s decks.

You were a wealth of knowledge on that Boulder deck. Did you pull that from memory or was it part of the auction listing? The enlargement of that deck is nice.

    Nice job as usual.
