eBay Watch: October 2007

Wow. What a totally shit month on eBay October was. I can’t remember covering a more generic month in the 5 years that I’ve been doing this. Guys that bought and sold in October, don’t take that as an insult, and admittedly there are a couple of beauties, but on the whole it was a blah month. If anything totally cool went off, then I missed it. Please, fill me in. Or am I totally wrong, and just getting burned out? Let me know. Any and all feedback is always welcome.

  • There are decks with incorrect details – the vallely mamouth was used – set up and ridden. Also the jessee neptune was also used – it had tail wear 1 ply and truck mount marks – this is why the prices are lower than mint nos versions of these decks – Lee

  • The dude davesco11 is shelling out some serious coin for gear. Keep an eye on him for November.

  • Pretty sure the Alva Airbrush was a Craiglist find by someone. The ad said 75 or something retarded. Dude then whored it out.
    I tried.
    I’d a kept it.

  • But yeah, it’s the same one that was on Ebay from Australia just be fore. Went from Australia to the US to Australia. Possibly back to the US.
Do it for the US Postal Service. They don’t make enough as it is.

  • From what I understand the Jesse was not minty fressh. Used, however lightly, and stress cracks. The seller bought it at 900 not realizing or not having the stress cracks mentioned. Placed it almost immediately on Ebay.

  • I had totally forgot about concrete jungle. I had that “p.o.s.” in high school and it truly did suck. One of the few boards I have ever broke. That and a ” johnny Kopp” T&C. Does any one remember that one?

  • I can’t believe the Sims Phillips didn’t go for like 2-3X as much…just when I thought I was getting to be a decent appraiser from reading ebay Watch

I paid $85 for a new deck once. I’m still not entirely comfortable having paid that much but it did have a cool graphic, it’s sort of beat up now though.

    Collectors make me barf.

I don’t know what is worse, that Alva deck or the Concrete Jungle p.o.s. that looks like a Nash board. At least the guy who drew the Concrete Jungle board put some effort into it. They must have been stoned at the factory the day they airbrushed that Alva.
