Skate and Annoy: Daily

Wes at the Roxy

The young and the innocent

This is a shot of a well known Portland skater Wes Cording taken in 1980 at a skatepark in Philadelphia called the Roxy or Roxbourough or something. Wes originally submitted it for the blue fiberglass ramp collection, but I am using it to announce that Wes is getting married tomorrow and all interested parties should meet at Union Jacks tonight if you want to send him off in the customary fashion. That’s not him on the cover, but you get the idea. Wes cleans up real good, you can see the proof after the jump.

Wes Cording gets married tomorrow. Bachelor party tonight!

Yes sir, buy Wes a, err, drink at Union Jack’s tonight if you want to pay your respects. Part of the fun of having a web site that a lot of people read is being able to occasionally embarrass your friends.

Here’s Wes before: The stains running down the concrete are why we call this the Bum Piss Bank.

Wes Cording

I just saw this spot in the trailer for the new video trailer (Bacon?), and Wes is the guy who started it.

Here’s Wes and Sophia after: Look at him! he’s gone from hanging out in urine infested overpasses to looking respectable enough to meet the family.
Wes and Sophia

Sophia says:

On our first date I came dressed in a black zip-up hoody and a cute yellow skirt.
Wes showed up rolling in on his skateboard and in an identical black zip-up hoody.

I’d quote the rest of it, but it’s all mushy and stuff, and the guy does have a reputation to uphold.

Congratulations to you both!

If you are jonesing for more Wes (insert girlish scream), he stars as the angry skinhead/dock worker in the Cold War promo video.

Festivities start tonight, i’m guessing around 9:30 or 10:00.

UPDATE: We got some very blurry pics sent to us, probably taken with a camera phone. Enjoy!

Here’s some bachelor party action. If you squint your eyes you can see Wes seated on stage as the ladies approach.

Wes Cording Bachelor party

Next day at the very casual ceremony. Matching Vans and Dickies in the wedding party.

  • Wow Wes got married ?. Remember “paradise” Wesley. ??.

  • Glad to hear you’re doing great! Nope, no bands (got close, released a CD in the early 90’s, did some touring, open for a ton of national acts, but never got the “big break”). I am very curious on how you ended-up in Oregon. Would love to catch up with you sometime.?.?

  • Wes! Yo dude! It’s Tony from West Norriton, PA! I’d ask “how you’ve been?”, but from the above captions, I can tell you’re doing well. Congrats on getting married!
