Zorlac collection on Wheelbite

What do 119 Zorlac skateboards look like?

They look like the picture above, plus one. Some people collect, and then some people really collect. Head on over to Wheelbite to check out the biggest Zorlac collection this side of Jeff Newton. Some of them are just minor color variations, but even so, there is a lot of Zorlac history there. They range from the early Texas time period through to the California days, but curiously no current Zorlac offerings. I’ve got a basement full of decks as it is, but I’m still hankering for a Craig Johnson reissue. If you can’t afford to pony up on eBay for the originals, you can order a near life sized print of some of the decks for $70. There are only a few available now, with more to be added.

  • We had the zorlac freestyle deck in Our shop in 85 maybe? Down I New Orleans. We orderd it from Gulf Coast outta Houston. And also I was in a skate gang called the sidewalk slobs .

I remember seeing a Zorlac Freestyle deck in the Gulf Coast Skates catalouge back in the mid 80’s . I rhink it had a TANK on it? very rare. can’t even find a pic of an old one. Am I crazy? Just burnt out now and old? does anyone remember this?

Love that 88 red Mini Metallica Zorlac… I still have mine with catus lettering…. wish they would reissue the basic skull look on these (no need to add Metallica lettering on them, so you can avoid the copyright issues). I would buy a dozen if it helps any….getRdone. Zorlac rules!!

  • Wow! That’s a trip down memory lane. I had some Zombu Wheels and a Model Metallica. Dysfunctional shape even by ‘eighties standards, but it said fucking Metallica on it, so you know, whatever…

hmm. Vision had the Agent Orange in 84, but the Zorlac Big Boys was mid 1983, so I’m going with that one.

  • I didn’t think that far back. I think the bands Black Flag and JFA put out their own models, at least the guys in JFA actually skated.

  • oops! didn’t see the “band” part. the bay city rollers had one circa ’75.

  • i’d say the hobie phil edwards model was the first signature model.

  • include Rip City Flag/Pettibon in the equation, but there is probably some lame Beach Boys board or something heavty metal from the ’70s…Neil?

  • Who was the first skateboard company to put out a band signature deck?
    Zorlac, Vision, anyone?

  • Hi,, nice collection you have!!.. I renember that i have one zorlac whit the Metallica “one” logo on it. It was whith this guy all f$%k-up whit missed arms and legs.. something like that… dont renember well but maybe you should know something.. (sorry the spelling).

  • The Gibson pig reissue rules. I feel like a kid again..

  • Definitive eye candy. The pink Big Boys deck rules.

very nice. I have one one of the Johnson reissues. I have a Gibson reissue which is warped as hell. I mentioned it to Jeff Newton, and he sent me a replacement immediately: I chose the Johnson. Very, very cool.
