March 2007 eBay Watch (Number 50!)
Yup, we’ve reached a milestone here at eBay Watch! This is #50. Pretty incredible really. I started doing them because I was collecting and was interested in the (relatively) new eBay phenomenon. I did the first one in September 2001. Back then there was still a number of online stores offering vintage decks for sale at pretty normal prices. Oldschoolskates.com used to have Jessee Sungods, Ben Schroeder Big Ben models, McGill skull and snakes, and Cab dragon and bats, all for around $75. Skatepool used to have a Salba witchdoctor and plenty of Salba tigers for under $100. Kilwag guest writes the Weird Stuff category this month. Check it out.
This is probably an old legacy Ebay Watch blog post. Some of the links may be broken or missing.

First off, let me head this off at the pass by saying there will be a link to the eBay columns on the front page, just as a many of you have asked for. Now that that that’s out of the way…
Right on target for the “New Wave” board. You nailed that description!
Smell the corduroy on those skate shorts.
The Malba graphic looks a little flat on that board, but I remember it used to pop a lot more. No pun intended.
Rat Bones (Err you mean Vato Rat?) – one of the all time great graphics, the sum is greater than the parts on this this one for sure. That was a heavy symbol an a success a far as a graphic goes.
McGill, Cab, Jasson Jesse, Corey O’Brien and Vallely decks are seriously putting me to sleep these days, but I guess the public still wants them.
I hadn’t noticed this before but the Mike Vallely Powell deck is quite “vaginal”… Oh ya, Leif Garrett is a douchebag, in case you missed it. The Melvins got Leif to sing Smells Like Teen Spirit on an album, and he even toured with them. The only redeaming quality of Leif is his “Behind the Music” story on VH1.
I believe Leif Garret is shown at SkaterCross in Reseda, California.
…and the obvious Leif Garret tie-in that he paralyzed his best freind who was a pool skater…
Congrats on #50! keep up the good work!
