Skull Skates just posted a small gallery of 70’s skateboard images featuring Canadian skaters and/or Canadian skate spots. There is one shot from Olympia Washington plus wall rides and Russ Howell spinning 360’s (whee!) too. Check it out here.

That’s the first picture I’ve been able to find of Olympic Skatepark. It was inside a warehouse on Sleater-Kinney. As a teen-ager, I skated there from the day it opened until the day it closed. A guy named “Bob” owned it. Can’t remember his last name. He and his wife had two kids, and a dog “Alvie” that rode a skateboard.
