Wasp In a Jar is the Vapors album, and the second since their 2016 reformation. Wasp in a Car is instantly recognizable as a Vapors album, overwhelmingly because of Dave Fenton&#8217;s voice. This lineup features Dave, and <a href=\"https:\/\/rockandrollglobe.com\/new-wave\/the-vapors-create-a-buzz-with-wasp-in-a-jar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Steve Smith<\/a> on Bass, with new members Michael Bowes on drum, who was also on their last release <em>Tomorrow<\/em>. Dave&#8217;s son Danny is on lead guitar. Aside from the voice, it sounds like a Vapors album from the original era. In fact, a few times I&#8217;ve had my library on shuffle and a track will come on, and in my head I&#8217;m thinking it must be one of the tracks on the expanded reissues of <em>New Clear Days<\/em> and <em>Magnets<\/em>. That being said, there are some differences, possibly due to drumming styles and production choices. Sometimes Daves voice sounds a sounds a little old, so I try not to think about the fact that it&#8217;s a 70 some odd year old man singing these songs. Still, it&#8217;s good stuff. If this had come out within a few months or years of <em>Magnets<\/em> it wouldn&#8217;t have disappointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Buying this is a little complicated depending on where you live, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/thevapors2.bandcamp.com\/album\/wasp-in-a-jar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">USA and Canada<\/a>, or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicglue.com\/thevapors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rest of the world.<\/a> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Artist: The VaporsRelease: Wasp In A JarRelease Date: 2025Label:\u00a0 If your taste of the Vapors is limited to Turning Japanese, then you&#8217;re missing out.
