The Magazine: Skateboard Started publication in 1977. Published by Sportscene Publishers Ltd., 14 Rathbone Place, London WIP 1 DE, England Telephone 01-637 7991/2/3 Telex 943763 CROCOM C REF: BUNCH VAT No. 234 6363 1 Company registered in England No 121 8996 This Issue: This is the Brazil issue. Someone paid for a trip to Brazil and so that's pretty much the only thing in this issue outside of some record review and a couple of comics. Some of the regular features (Product Lust. Re-action, Playspace and Hector) have been ditched in favor of Brazil coverage. 1990 looks little lean for Skateboard! This issue is 64 pages long, alternating every 4 pages between color and black and white, with 27 ads. The quality of the photographs vary, not quite up to the standards of the bigger mags, but on the positive side, it's packed full of spots you've probably never seen before if you don't live in Brazil. Theres a thoughtful write up of a visit to a local skateboard manufacturers factory with discussion of trying to meet the quality standards of the USA based companies. Curiously, the skateboard molds are made out of aluminum. All adverts in: Skateboard! |
