Bacon was in Sweden for 20 days – they flew into Stockholm to meet up with our distributor – Stalefish (and Coyote Grind Lounge) – and hung out for a few days before driving down to the QuickSilver Bowlriders Cup in Malmo (about 5 hours South of Stockholm) I went to meet up with them after the Malmo trip in Stockholm for a series of demos and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

As soon as I landed, I was picked up by Rolle (from CGL) and Stephen White. I immediately recognized them cause they were wearing Bacon mesh hats and shirts… reppin if you will. We drove to Rolle’s house about 20 minutes outside of downtown Stockholm where all the guys were sleeping in a single room on the floor… got them up and head out about 2 hours to do a demo at Avesta. Below you can see a transfer that Tim Johnson is doing from one of the bowls to another bowl… Tim has an extra muscle in his legs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen White hurt his foot in Malmo so he wasn’t doing so hot including this slam where we though he hit his head… Thankfully it was only a slam to the back.<\/p>\n\n\n

Still in Avesta, Kowalksi with a backside air… there are photos of a vert session a few days later at the indoor skatepark at vert.nu… Kowalski is getting really good at vert.<\/p>\n\n\n

Mandatory group photo with the kids upon leaving Avesta. There were probably twice as many kids there watching but it started to rain… which happened pretty much every day… remind you of somewhere?<\/p>\n\n\n

Here’s one of the window displays at Coyote Grind Lounge in Stockholm – Stoked! Another display in the shop… this might have been set up for my benefit me thinks…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Literally right outside CGL they have a series of 3 concrete bowls… this is extremely close to the old-town part of Stockholm… we ended up here almost everyday… We skated a little before going out that night… Cobblestone streets…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stockholm skyline… there weren’t any skyscrapers.. all older building and churches. This is about 11pm at night. It stayed dark for only about 4 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n

This backpack gives me tits, especially with the straps tied. This is the oldest street in Stockholm or something? Either way… pretty awesome ! Vieira will appreciate this – free public bike pumps. They also have bikes you can rent but you had to register and get a card for them.. I really wanted to check it out since I’ve never walked so much in my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Headed back to CGL and bumped into a customer… an actual customer! Apparently we have 2 customers now in Sweden!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stayed close to the City Center with Niklas from Coyote whereas the other dudes stayed at Rolle’s house 20 minutes out… I met up with them later since i was waking up pretty early from Jet lag and doing the site seeing thing. The second night was a BBQ \/ Party with Punk bands at Nord Surf. Nord is owned by Jasper (below) who started a trash company in Stockholm … this covered bowl is on their company grounds… The surface is Skatelite and was extremely slippery. More photos on our site. This event was also sponsored by Red Stripe beer and Jagermeister! Punk bands, Beer, skating… IN SWEDEN! I was on cloud 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They love hot dogs. I love hot chicks and hot dogs. (and our banner under it was epic) All that skating and getting drunk… but as soon as it turned 8pm – everyone focused their attention on football (soccer) Sweden vs. Russia. I thought this was hilarious…. you’d never see this in the States. Sweden lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turgesen is so Emo. Right: Don’t worry, they were following Rolle’s lead on pissing into the water… We were on our way to “after party.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every woman in Sweden is uglier than shit… some of them (middle) have mustaches. There used to be two women too… but they run away from me for some reason. The beer in Sweden is extremely tasty – and expensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the next day at a “Bacon Brunch” at the park next to CGL. Like I said, Tim was going off – 360 stale transfer from bowl to bowl… followed up with a nose blunt nollie heelflip out – this guy is nuts! Right – Punk band in the back called “The Krooked”… they were really good, with some Operation Ivy sounding tunes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnny ollies a street gap.. My camera sucks – sorry. Friday was “Mid Summer” which is a big deal in Sweden for folks to get out of the city and picnic in the country. We got on a boat to the Archipelago Islands to do just that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even more vodka on the way back… I really can’t drink Vodka. Neither could Frank – but Benji didn’t seem to bat an eye. Pickled hearing on bread? Tim was going off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niklas from CGL got our Swinger graphic tattooed on his arm.. He said that some people get tattoos for reasons but he didn’t.. just tattoos of graphics he liked… (screaming hand to the right) Next day (Saturday) we hit some street spots with some locals including a DIY spot they built .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was also this public mini near the street spots but this lasted about 5 minutes before… Rain!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s a few shots from the DIY street spot Brotherhood Plaza which featured granite ledges and stuff… amazing spot! There was another name for the area this is in but I can’t remember it right now. Seriously if this existed in Portland, the kids would crap themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n

I left on Sunday morning on a series of flights that basically took 27 hours to get back to Portland. If you ever have a chance to go to Stockholm it’s definitely worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
