Suicide’s Alan Vega R.I.P.

I write under the assumption that Skate and Annoy readers are somewhat enlightened about the history of Punk Rock, but just in case you aren’t Suicide is one of the most commercially miserable yet insanely influential bands of their time. If you’re not familiar with them, it may be hard to wrap you head around that after watching these videos, but it true.

Alan Vega, half of Suicide passed away over the weekend at the age of 78. If you’ve read anything about their beginnings, it’s hard to believe Alan Vega and Martin Rev were able to make it out of the wastelands of 70’s New York alive, let alone make it to their 70’s.
