Here’s a eulogy for Brooklyn Street Skate Spot, no words, just photos from some of the last sessions. As I write this, I don’t think the actual demolition has begun yet. Fence hopping is a reality. Thanks to Shawn Reinert for the photos.

This is snake run is the first pour from Dreamland Skateparks at work in Eugene, Oregon. I’m not exactly sure if the entire park is already funded, but Skaters for Eugene Skateparks managed to raise $57,000, and look, work has begun! Blowing It starts off with a moving eight minute tribute fallen crew member Keita Farnsworth who died in 2012. The rest is dedicated to three years of good friends and good sessions. It’s amazing how many spots there are in the Oregon area. Watch Jake Arciniega Doug Weaver’s Blowing It after the jump.

The 3rd annual Mt Tabor Challenge is this Sunday in Portland, Oregon. Open class requires an “old school” tuck. There’s also classes for Masters, Groms, and bikes (no pedaling). Details on PDX Downhill. If you’re not familiar with Mt. Tabor, it’s a fairly mellow but fun closed route that isn’t very technically challenging, unless you start at the very top and have to dodge pedestrians and cars after threading the needle (gap between gate and pole) to pass through the parking lot at the top third of the course. Evergreen Skateparks is making progress on the Happy Valley skate spot. It looks like it has a couple interesting features already. They are splitting the construction updates between Facebook and their official site.

Evergreen Skateparks recently broke ground on a 4500 square foot skatepark in Happy Valley, Oregon. I can’t find a design for this anywhere, and most of the pictures that turn up in a Google Image search are old concepts attributed to Newline that appeared here on S&A back in 2009. Newline still has revised plans on their website. What happened is anyone’s guess, but Oregonians are happy to keep it local.
