Trifecta Bloat
I took too many pictures. It’s taking a while to get through them all. Here’s Lance to tide you over.
Skateboard Action: Ballerinas this time
Coming down to the wire here. Here is the latest installment of the Skateboard Action book, courtesy of Carl Warren. Last week they were ice skaters, this week it’s ballerinas. It’s O.P. Moore. Hey Roving Editor, Enlarge-o-rama works fine on my iPhone. Previous installments: Seven – Six – Five – Four – Three – Two – One
Something brewing in St Louis
In the Saint Louis area, creatures come out at night, armed with trowels and shovels. What are they building on King’s Highway? Check it out. This picture is f-ed up. I love it. UPDATE: more pics over here. – Thanks to Bob Mechtly for the tip.
Oregon Trifecta – More Tigard shots
So I heard another kid broke an arm at Tigard. His name is Kieth Baldassere, and that’s him above. I missed that whole exchange. Check out page two of Tigard photos. I tried to mix them up some, so there will be new faces on page two.
Animated shot of the week with the Greek
Here’s the entire clip that is the source of the frame grab that was used as the Shot of the Week at the beginning of the month. some people grouse about using a video grab, and normally I would agree, but I really liked this shot. Apparently so did Bryce, because it ran simultaneously over at Skate Daily. Thanks again to the Baade.
Skateistan auctions
Skateistan has been making the rounds in the mainstream media again lately. CNN is just getting to it. Come on guys, you’re months behind schedule! BAck in the USA, there are a couple individuals actively engaged in helping out the cause. MapleXO has some autographed Corey Duffel earrings made from recycled skateboards. All proceeds from the auction benefit Skateistan, as do 100% of the proceeds from these Skateistan t-shirts. That’s proceeds folks, nut just profits. Best part is, you don’t have to pay for postage from Afghanistan!
Oregon Trifecta coverage. Tigard day one.
Alright already. Here’s day one of Skate and Annoy’s Oregon Trifecat Tigard coverage. That’s right. Two days worth of photos, not because they are that great, but because (regular readers chime in here…) I can’t edit myself. That’s Steve Reeves above, he doesn’t care what Creature thinks. Check out the Oregon Trifecta Tigard coverage.
Bizarro in camera effects (AKA More trifecta stalling)
I as going through my Trifecta pictures trying to get something together when this one caught my eye. Check out how Mason Huggin’s right foot looks like it’s being severed by his board. I swear to you this is not photoshop trickery, rather the result of some weird flash effect. All I’ve done is adjusted the levels slightly, and obviously cropped and resized it. I’ve included a full size close up of the foot in question, It looks totally doctored, but it isn’t.
R.I.P. Andy Kessler
Member of the original Zoo York art/skate crew, activist, skatepark designer, and all around skate scene motivator Andy Kessler died from an allergic reaction to a wasp sting on Monday. As reported in Forbes, Skateboarder</a, ESPN, the Associated Press, UPI, New York magazine, and everywhere else but here, until now. Thanks to everyone who sent in the tips, I’m obviously not reading my google alerts this week. Here’s a 2007 video interview with Andy and another lengthy 2005 profile. [Photo: Kingbee]
