The old standby
Here’s a pretty cool ad from Converse. It looks much better larger, on Ads of the World. Never actually seen it in a magazine. This isn’t even an add for Converse Skateboarding. Anybody that skates has probably worn Chuck Taylors at one point or another.
Klutch and Jessamyn raffle at opening in PDX
I’ve milked this single Diesel Fuel ramp shot to death now, but I think it’s gone now that Klutch and Jessamyn Patterson painted a mural on part of it. The piece is 35″ x 90″ and will be raffled at the show opening with $1 tickets. The winner will be announced at 9 PM. Opening Friday, April 9, 2010 from 7-10 PM Someone Gallery 2718 SW Kelly Avenue Portland, OR Music by Cars And Trains at 8PM and DJ monkeytek all night.
Disaster exhibition/zine launch featuring Lance Mountain, Thomas Yu and Skypage
On Friday April 9th the HVW8 Art + Design Gallery will be hosting the Heel Bruise book launch for the last batch of Disaster zines. Celebrating its origins in counter culture youth movements and DIY bookmaking, the Disaster zine highlights the art of Lance Mountain, Thomas Yu, and SkyPage. The final edition comes signed and numbered with a Disaster zine tee shirt. Also on display will be a selection of new works from the three contributing artists, and sounds courtesy of Ras Dynamite (aka Lance C. Mountain). Portuguese wall rides
The Vodafone headquarters in Porto, Portugal, as seen in SpaceInvading. – Thanks to Skate D for the tip.
Don’t shred on me (yet)
More pictures from a backyard pour in the woods of Maine, thanks to Thomas Dupere.
Phoning it in today
I’m busy, busy, busy. Trying to make it in America. Enjoy this shot of assorted Skate and Annoy fodder from reader Uncle Tom. Enlarge-o-rama.
Cuppa Stoke
I bought some Cuppa Stoke coffee online from the creator of the Skateboarder’s Journal. Friend of the site, (whether he knows it or not,) Dan Gesmer came up with the name! If you can get past it, the coffee is pretty good. My palate isn’t as refined as it once was, but good coffee is good coffee. I can vouch for the 5-0 Grind blend.
The dangers of getting stoked
Still funny after all these years. The Onion takes a serious look at the dangers of getting stoked. Turn volume down if you’re at work. [Source: EPM]
On the third day he rose from the dead, dressed as a rabbit and gave chocolate to the kids
Easter bunnies on skateboards. It may look cheap, but this little guy costs $20 from Enjou Chocolat. More chocolate Easter bunnies after the jump. Don’t forget to rewind last year’s disturbing pre-restraining order footage of Peter Cottontail doing some shredding with the kids.
Deep in the woods of Maine
I posted this one on East Coast time, just for our readers from Maine. Thomas Dupere sent in a couple pictures of a basement bowl and the beginnings of some DIY crete in the woods. I think they planning to pour this weekend.
