Jeff Hedges Interview
Do they sell t-shirts that say “I went to skateboard contest in Sweden and all I got was 3 weeks in a hospital and this lousy t-shirt.” Jeff Hedges went to Malmö for Vert Attack 8, and after a horrible slam he ended up stuck in Sweden for what seemed like a month while he waited for clearance from the doctors to get on a plane and head back home. There’s a nice interview with him up at the United Skateboard Photography Project. It’s a good read, better than “Hey man, what’s up? Whoa, crazy!” You can actually read it, and learn thing or two. Check it out.

Malmo Story:
Been there & ‘won a contest’ (I reject win/lose BS; everyone wins…because if you had/have fun, YOU WON)
Anyways, I was skating the then new Fellerparken central CPH skatepark. That place/park/realm….. f’ing great… and I happen to say something like the following;
“I don’t even want to go to Malmo. I like it better here……”
However, even though I ‘called it’, I went there & speaking of win/losing….
I woke up in the hospital like a week-10 days later…. with a large piece of my skull missing,,,, which is ‘one way’ that a skater can ‘lose’ at a contest……
Quick humor: Logic concludes that I clearly LOST………
Lost a piece of the old noggin… & the sense of smell & a few days.
ADVICE: Superstition is sometimes that voice/entity/thing that ‘perhaps attempts to convince a person’, that there are lots of choices… and sometimes, when the voice calls; it might be a good idea to listen.
