this is so odd. I saw an article in Thrasher on the history of ‘Skate and Destroy’ earlier this year. I noticed all the different tattoos and thought of what kind I could make for myself, as I have yet to get a skate tattoo. Anyway, I thought of Skate and Annoy as a punny tattoo, which are the only tattoos I get, and a few weeks later I found this website when I googled the phrase.
So it was weird to find a site that found the same conclusion that I came to with the Thrasher creed, but now I’m baffled by the cartoons holding the same calculated thoughts that I have come to with my skating. I listening to Alan Watts lectures a lot, and in my skating I find all the Zen observations that he illustrates so clearly.
It’s very refreshing to find others making the connection from the ‘master’, aka the skateboard. True, there are infinite masters out there, but I’ve found my skateboard is an awesome teacher. Always fair, strict, and to the brink of life’s creative expression.

Not only that, but we thought of it in 1985.
