Cedar Crest Ramp in Poweredge
Poweredge just added some more back issues to the archives. I guess they are all back issues now. The image above is from an article about the closing and subsequent reopening of the Cedar Crest Ramp, which was a topic of discussion I overheard the other night while everyone was on deck watching Casey KC split his head open in the back bowl at DOS. Damned if that isn’t Portland’s favorite private bowl owner and former east-coaster Dave Tobin in the feature. Go to the Poweredge Magazine site and look for the link that says “MORE 9.88 .”
If you want to read the true story of Cedar Crest, check out the article in Concrete Wave, Fall 2007 issue, written by Bruce Adams. You can read it online by going to the Concrete Wave Magazine web site, hit the link to Turnit.ca and then choose the Fall 2007 issue. Go to page 60. It’s a great story about the greatest ramp…
Cedar Crest was the fastest ramp i ever skated. I slammed really bad there and the steel surface had no give whatsoever.
I skated DOS the other night and slammed pretty good. I’m so glad that bowl is made of birch and has some give.
The damage: 7 stitches to the brow plus the usual swellbow, hipper, combo.
And here I thought it was Casey, sorry.
Tobin Is one of my favorite old dudes. FAMILY MAN.
Tobin! Just last summer, saw him shave his head and then proceed to frontside roll-in the outdoor vert ramp at Windells minus the helmet and pads you see in the above picture. Tobin gnar all the way. Cheers!
fuck yeah! kill pic. hella dope yo
Got to ride it once, after the roof was added.
