SOTW 1-5-08: More Sign In bowl.
After seeing himself in last week’s shot of the week, Runaway insisted that we at least use a good shot. That wasn’t a dig a Peter Dietsches’ photo skills, Keith was just being self deprecating. In order to detract attention from his corn rows, Keith furnished two great shots of TSOL member Ron Emory at the same bowl. Above is a close up of one of them. Love the debris flying off, and if you can believe it, it’s a make of a backside edger that took a turn for the hairy. Word is he made those regularly. Keith said Ron owned that pool, and you’ll be inclined to agree if you check out the full frame Shot of the Week as well as a bonus shot after the jump.
Here’s an alternate shot, by all rights it probably should have been the Shot of the Week, but it was too similar to the last one. Keith had this to say about the photo.
…that one foto that looks like ollie is justa full Hackett-slash FS grind that he whipped so hard it came off the wall – he owned that place….
Don’t forget to check out the Shot of the Week
shot of the year for this barney here!
love it ,taking it to the edge
sweet! a tupelo chain sex sticker!
Yeah, Ron Emory is a way rad skater! I got to skate with him a few times back in the day in Phoenix, AZ. I still have some video of him at the infamous Dead Cat pool. Good times, Thanks for the photos!!!
ping! do you remember a shane davis??? he used to skate dead cat back in the day as well.
i think for the whole time that the pool was around ….
Isn’t that Ron Emory from T.S.O.L.?????
Yes, it is. Read the post and and you’ll see that is mentioned.
Any skater that can edge out like that AND play in TSOL is fucking legend.
Hello old friends,
The Sign-In-Bowl was in Dan and Ruth Massey’s back yard in Anaheim California. Many of the best of the old school skaters could be found shreading “secret sessions” 24-7-364 from 1987-1993 we had a lot of good times there. Your fotos bring back memories, all good ones. If anyone has any more photos of The Sign-In-Bowl
please send them to me at TheHotLine@msn.com.
They would be greatly apreciated.
Sincearly,
Danny Massey
