’zine show – hurry
Maybe I don’t pay enough attention to the art scene. There is Xerox on the Inside of Your Eyelids, a traveling show of 80’s skate ‘zines opened October 1, 2008 in a small gallery at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon. I just happened to spot it tonight when I was teaching a class.
Somehow I missed the invite and I’m guessing it will come down this weekend. On the first Thursday of every month there is a mass gallery crawl in Portland and all the new shows open that night. If you want to see it I recommend you get down there in the next couple of days.

More snaps of the installation after the turn.
I originally got in touch with the organizer Rich Rich Jacobs in February when the show opened in San Francisco. It was supposed to travel to London, LA to New York, then Portland and was scheduled to hit denver, texas, and a few other spots maybe Tokyo even. Eventually it might become a book. The show is pretty good and I’m going back tomorrow to get a better look. Represented were SkateFate, Contort, Local Chaos, Bodyslam, Swank Zine, Naughty Nomads and many more.
It’s in a small gallery at the North side of the building but they crammed a lot in there. Click the panoramic shot to see it bigger.
Lots of ‘zines. I had to fine the light switch though.
Some photos attractively arranged.
One glass case full of cool stickers and other memorabilia.
This will give you an idea of the presentation aesthetic.
Hmmm. I guess I should have actually sent in something if I wanted to be in the show. D’oh!
