One-off custom skateboard printing

Came across this in the Concrete Disciples forums where a heated discussion was underway about silkscreened skateboard graphics vs. heat transfers. Some member calling himself 5CU111 ALX posted the link. Zazzle’s website offers to put your custom graphics on a skate deck. I didn’t see any dimensions but they do offer three sizes.

Looks just like one of those other custom products sites.

What would you do?

I know what you’re thinking. I could buy the full color Hopeless Old Men On Skateboards omnibus edition for that price!

  1. I want a dagger stabbed into a skull with a snake wrapped around it, and the snake is getting ready to attack a spider, which is sinking its fangs into a scorpion that has just stung a rat.

  2. lol! That is funny heath. I think I have seen that in a magazine. What is it with skate graphics and guitars… they are both magnets for great artists doing (imho) dumb concepts? Maybe that is part of what makes the great designs SO valued. Oh well, these days many skateboard graphics look like letterhead. So, what is the greatest deck graphic of all time???? anyone? Neil? anyone?

on a different note, hey MC, I think Hosoi’s dad is sending you a C and D as we speak! Just kidding. lol!

  3. FYI-Boardpusher has more shape options (even old school) and it’s also cheaper.

  4. I like the idea of cheezy airbrushed ’70’s van graphics did anyone ever do that? Maybe some Brothers Hildebrandt or a nice Boris Vallejo.

My other thought was a faux walnut engraved name plate like on a ’70s bank manager’s desk.

  5. I can finally roll the Devil Hello Kitty graphic. Please shoot me on site.

  6. Assistant TO the manager 😉

I want a mirror on the bottom of my skate, that way I can check my hair between runs and make sure my hair is perfectly tucked under my beanie and hanging over my left eye.

  8. good news damienhialation theysure know what skaters want. 😉

  9. oops there really is a link there.

LOL! Thanks for that kvon, I missed that posting!

  11. What a great way to pick up chicks.
“Hey baby, check out my pro model.” haha!

  12. Here’s one… a graphic of a THRASHED board, and call it “The Poser.”

  13. You have an idea there heath! Just like the people that pay $60 for a pair of jeans that are torn to shreds. We can sell our used decks for $120 because they show you’re a “Thrasher”. I’ll cut you in for 10% as the idea man.

  14. I once had an idea for a service that would apply faux mud splashes to all those prisitine off-road vehicles people drive on our city streets.

  15. Thanks for the cut, chompy!

  16. I’m thinking Corey Webster’s graphics from his Smash Skates model.

conahan–already been done. I’ve seen SUV’s with stickers of mud etc on the side.

  18. Yeah but what about a coveralled technician with a van mounted sprayer of faux mud with different spray tips for different spatter effects, sort of an anti-detailing service? Blood and bug guts sprays might be other options.

  19. I’d do a large vagina close-up. Alternatively, a big burning blunt would work too (tail on fire).
