FAQ
We no longer comment on what we think items are worth until after auction. The eBay skateboarding auction community gets really up in arms about the possibility of affecting the outcome of auctions, so we have decided to remain neutral. Also, Neil get’s inundated with these types of requests and has grown weary of taking the time to advise everyone. A good source of info for this is Artofskateboarding.com.
Thanks

(Yes, this is a form letter.)
(Yes, this is exactly what I’ll copy and paste as a reply if you send us an email asking how much your skateboard is worth.)
A: Yes! If you follow these simple instructions.

If you include a note or something entertaining, you’re more likely to receive some extra stickers.
*WTF is a SASE? It’s a self-addressed, stamped envelope. That’s right. Take an empty envelope, write your address on it and put a stamp on it. THEN PUT IT INSIDE ANOTHER STAMPED ENVELOPE ADDRESSED TO US AND MAIL IT. If these instructions sound condescending it’s because you haven’t seen the amount of blank envelopes that get sent to us.
We’re willing to give you some stickers, but you have to pay for postage. We don’t care how poor you are or what country you live in, you still need to send us the postage to get your free stickers mailed to you.
A: No.
Are you kidding me? This is a skateboarding web site. We don’t sponsor anyone. That doesn’t make any sense.
A: Maybe.
Send and email with samples of your writing or web links to samples, and I’ll consider it.
You must have the ability to edit images in Photoshop or some other program.
All our posts have accompanying images. You need to be able to provide those images to our size specs because we don’t have time to do it for you.
You should have an idea of what sorts of things you want to write about. Send us the samples and we’ll consider it.
Please don’t take it personally if you get turned down. Myself and a few others have put a lot of time and effort into Skate and Annoy. I’m a pretty good judge of what works well for the site, and I don’t want to compromise “my vision,” whatever that is. And honestly, the majority of authors that have joined our ranks haven’t remained regular contributors because it’s a mostly thankless job that doesn’t pay a cent.
Regular contributor or special occasion only?
You don’t have to commit to any publishing schedule. If you have a one-off story that you think deserves some attention we can oblige you. If you want to become a regular contributor we’ll most likely run a post or two to see how it goes.
Just because you don’t fit here doesn’t mean there isn’t a place for you somewhere else. I’ll even give you advice on how to set up your own site if you want.
Thanks,
– Kilwag
A: No.
Seriously? We’re flattered! But this is largely a one person daily operation with a few contributors. We have no office and nobody gets paid.
If you have a story or pictures that you want to contribute We’ll gladly consider it, but we can’t pay for photos, design work or anything else really. It’s all done “in house,” at home after we get back from our realday jobs.
Publish or Perish? If you just want to see your work reach a potentially larger audience, you might want to consider becoming a contributor or submitting a Shot of the Week.
UPDATE: What happened to Shot of the Week? It’s dead.
A: Sure.
Requirements:
Image should be at least 1000 pixels in the longest dimension.
Image should have no watermark. We will add one with your copyright information on it to match the style of the rest of the site.
Include name of skater if known, approximate date and location that photograph was taken.
Optionally include a web link for you, the photographer.
Don’t submit a photo if you didn’t take it.
We don’t pay for photo usage. We don’t get paid for anything. We don’t even pay ourselves.
We don’t necessarily care if the photo has been published elsewhere, and we don’t discourage you from submitting it to anyone else. Skate and Annoy reserves the right to re-publish the photo indefinitely, but we won’t sell it to anyone else or use it for other purposes not directly related to Skate and Annoy. We’re not going to put it on a t-shirt and sell it, etc.
Submitting a photo does not guarantee it will be used.
Got a tip?
Let us know how you want to be listed in the credit and include your web site if you want your name linked. If you are sending text or an image from the web, don’t forget to include a link to the spot you found it originally.
