Christmas

Merry Christmas and/or Happy Chanukah, Kwanza or whatever it is you celebrate. The board on the right is this year’s Powell Peralta x-mas deck. The Frosty Ripper is still available at a handful of shops if you’re in the market. The one on the left? I’m not sure when it was made, but I found the picture here. I pretty much completely slacked on it this year but it is easy enough to peruse skate paraphernalia from Christmas’ Past.

In the spirit of giving

If you need to donate some money before the end of the year, consider giving it to one of these fine organizations supporting skateboarders by promoting skateparks and skateboarding. Follow the links below and click on their donate button. You can give the government everything you owe, or you can direct a portion of what you owe to your favorite skate advocacy organization and reap the tax benefits. You might also check if your employer has a gift matching program.

Descriptions after the turn.
I forgot one.

I forgot about this Christmas tree made out of skateboards, sent to me by Jungle Jim Kuiack. At first glance I thought it was just an oddly shaped fake Christmas tree.
Merry Christmas from Skate and Annoy
If I could I’d have you all over for cocktails and fudge. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Ramadan, Kwanza, or Flying Spaghetti Day… Just be happy and enjoy yourself and your family and friends. Thanks to Rich for shooting this. He had a better shot but my beard was completely covering my face. Enlarge-o-rama.
UPDATE: MC has a video clip.
Beaver on a skateboard
This Christmas ornament is from a company called American Greetings. This is their 2009 “Son” ornament, as you can see from the bottom of the beaver’s shoes. The hook is on one of his shoes, but he balances fine on his board without it. I managed to get a decent picture of this because I didn’t break it in the process, unlike the last time I photographed an animal skateboarding. Enlarge-o-rama.
Skateboard Raccoon
From Hallmark, circa 1985. I’m not sure who made the decision to have the Raccoon on a skateboard, but I’m glad they did. there’s a shot of the box after the jump. Depth of field is too shallow in this shot, but I dropped the ornament and broke the wheels right after I took this so that’s as good as it gets. It’s the day before Christmas and my tree already looks like it is about to spontaneously combust.
Bah Humduck!
Porky Pig gets r-r-radical with some X-Mas skateboarding action in this 2006 Looney Tunes special titled Bah Humduck!. It’s another adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, with Daffy as the greedy owner of a department store.

One footed rocket air?

You will receive this unique Christmas ornament featuring a boy doing a trick on his skateboard… …This will be a big hit with any young skateboarder you know!
Another in a long string of Christmas ornaments, this one on eBay for an hour or so more. Made by the Kurt Adler company
Ho Ho Jingle Bell

The global economy would like to take care of your skateboarding and holiday needs.
12″ Skateboard Santa Claus, moving Skateboard and will change direction automatically, with X’mas song ” Ho Ho Jingle Bell “
The annoying thing about the Alibaba.com web site is that there are no pricing details available on many of the products. You have to contact someone and I suppose, arrange to have them imported. Apparently they reuse the skateboard for just about anything… (Speaking of Missing Persons) I’ve seen this board on a Troll doll too.
- Thanks to DaddyYo for the tip.
