Santa Monica College has parking for your Fratboards. This skateboard rack photo comes from the Skateboarder Magazine’s Facebook page. Yeah, you’ve seen it on Facebook already, but if you’re looking for it next year, where’s it going to show up? Is that the Governator on the podium? Yes, it is.
Pretty sure I’ve used that one (here) before. This is a pleasing form for a skateboard rack. I have to imagine it feels nice let those wheels down in that little cradle. The stress point at the mounting holes looks fragile. Check it out on Instructables. I use a chunk of 2×4 with two dowel rods inset at an angle.
As much as these look like bindings from water skis attached to a goofy piece of wood, the mechanical design of the skateboard rack from MAxRax is clever. I thin they might sell better wiithout the graphics. Attach the mount to the wall, and the top part slides up as you insert it into the rubber sheath… actually it’s a little bit fetishistic, but a clever design none the less.
