If you have kids, you end up with Elmo crap, like it or not. This thing is called Aquadoodle. It’s some sort of plastic paper printed with an ink that is barely visible until it gets wet. My kids don’t like it that much because they have no control over the colors. And because they are kids, they’ve gone ahead and scribbled on them. This Elmo on a skateboard dates back to 2007, tomorrow I’ll show you another Sesame Street character on a skateboard from 1977.

Speaking of Dave Grohl, here’s a video featuring Mr Grohl from last weekend’s appearance on Saturday Night Live. The bit is the father of the bride getting his old 80’s band back together to play one song at his daughter’s wedding reception. Turns out his old band was hardcore. The premise is not too far off from McGill’s latest commercial and MC’s comic. Fairly decent 80’s era hardcore imitation. Good band name too. Somewhere out there somebody in awe that SNL used thier band name in a skit. There’s got to have been a real “Crisis of Conformity” at some point. SNL on SNA. Check it out after the jump.

Some people have reported the video isn’t working for them, so you can also see it on hulu (for a limited time).

A long time ago, Barbie had a sister named Skipper, and Skipper had a friend named Fluff. With a name like Fluff, I thought she was an aftermarket, third party friend, but I looked it up. Fluff came packaged as “Living Fluff,” complete with a skateboard. For some reason, every time she shows up for sale on eBay, she’s always accompanied by pictures of herself naked. It’s odd and disturbing. Almost as disturbing as that weird ollie band sled the other Fluff is strapped into. Please, oh please click through, or you will miss “Action skateboard and real posin’ stand included.”

So I’d seen a few Fluff auctions on eBay, (Don’t ask…) they aren’t usually very expensive, but I never bit because I thought it was just Barbie’s stray skateboards paired with a dime store Barbie knock off. But hey, she’s legit! One guy has a mint condition Living Fluff that he wants $200 for!

Dramatic New! Well, OK. If you say so.

Fluff with the skateboard dates back to 1972 or so, although one source named as a 1969. In the package her skateboard looks a little bit like a waterski. I think these are the same skateboards that Barbie had. She had one you know. I know this becasue I bought one. Oops. Did I type that out loud?

.

Fluff is Skipper’s playmate! They wear the same fashions! Pose her head to toe every way! Her head tilts ‘n turns! Her arms swing around! Her Elbows bend! Her Knees bend! Her legs swing up ‘n out! (No, it really says that.) OK, so enough foreplay with the Fluff girl. Here’s the money shot, and the aforementioned action skateboard and real posin’ stand.

You know, if I won the lottery, one of the things I’d be blowing money on would be $200, 30 year old dolls with skateboards. And just because this picture made me laugh. I didn’t crop it or anything, it was featured as-is in the auction.

I couldn’t find the rumored Bridgestone commercial with the skateboard loop, but I did find this one from 2007 that is a retread (Get it? Ha ha! I’m killing it!) of the car as skateboard theme that I’m going to have to start calling an archetype if they keep making these. This one is pretty weak. Although I might have thought otherwise if I hadn’t seen the exact same concept several times already.

Has anyone actually seen the Bridgestone commercial with a skateboard in it?
