First off, let us apologize for the clichéd typeface, we just couldn’t resist. Welcome to what we hope will be a central repository for advice and information on how to take matters into your own hands. We have many things planned including but not limited to concrete work, ramp building, making your own coping, screen printing, pool draining, and zine making. Got an idea? We need your contributions! Please help us make this a worthwhile resource. A lot of these pages exist in other places on the web, but they have a tendency to disappear without notice. We're not going anywhere. These articles may not be 100% complete or accurate, so we’re always open to corrections or an opposing point of view.

Make a micro zine for a fraction of the time and money it would take you to mkae aful sized sized zine. The best part is, it's still sixteen pages long, and it won't break the bank to print them in color. Intructions and downloadable layout guide, plus a link to a sample issue.

Two articles on screen printing. The first one is a several pages long and covers the basics of screen printing and some specifics concerning printing skateboards. The second one is detailed instructions on how to make a jig for holding a skateboard while printing.

Stefan Hauser from Dreamland and now Placed to Ride Fame has contributed this article on the basics of building your own skatepark. Not to be confused with getting a park built in your town.

Carter Dennis a Southwest Regional Director of Skaters for Public Skateparks was kind enough to let us re-post this article on how to pour your own cement coping.

A little bit of information on making some homemade granite coping from left over cutouts from counter tops. Not for the the inexperienced, but posted nonetheless.

Another repost, This time courtesy of Sleestak and SPS Director Kent Dahlgren. Maybe you won't have to bail - literally.

Uhm... Need help setting up your skateboard? Well, if you somehow actually need instructions on how to put your grip tape on and add trucks and wheels, you can check out this BBC Sports "masterclass" on building your own skateboard, complete with  effeminate   cool English accent. To be fair, it's probably meant for little kids. And hey, we love the Brits, in fact, one of us is one.
