Sometimes when a group of skateboard nerds get together on the Interweb they need to share their warm fuzzy feelings, so they get together for an unconventional convention of sorts. This one was called Sleestock '06, named after the infamous web community where lots of people waste time while they should be working - Sleestak. It's on a need to know basis. Some say it's elitist, but really, how can anyone this goofy think they are better than anyone else? If you can help out with the names I missed please do.

Alcohol and other distractions conspired against my photography skills, so the results aren't that great. Good thing straight edge isn't a set of rules, cause this street session on the gravel was partially inspired by bottled courage, or in this case, perhaps bottled stupidity. It's hard to believe these guys were actually skating on gravel. The wheels didn't spin a lot, they mostly seemed to slide. Amazingly, no flat spots occurred.

It's the middle of the day (Saturday) and not a lot of people are riding. It's not clear what the ratio of Sleestaker's to park users was, but it was clear that some people enjoying Lincoln City were just there by coincidence.

By the time it got dark, most people split for the beach, but a few people were there to try out the lights in the pool. Nighttime skating with no overhead lights is not a problem.

Aaargh! Sunday morning was a rough one. Most folks bailed but a hearty few were there early in the morning to enjoy the park unencumbered by the crowds.

Sure was fun. Our hats are off to Bobcat, who made it happen. Plus Dogside and Orezona for making the patches. See ya next year!
