I'm trying something different with these pictures. Under each full size picture (except the panorama) there is an enlargement of the 3D rendering with the approximate point of view and field of vision indicated in red lines. It should give you more of an idea of what you are looking at.
25 miles north of the heart of Portland, this Battle Ground Washington park is a Grindline design being built by Dreamland. Washington state has some sort of law for certain types of construction that requires a separate design and construction firm. I'm not sure what the advantage to that is besides more red tape. The 3D rendering is from the city of Battle Ground. There's no longer any mention of the park on the Grindline site, and the Dreamland site mentions coming soon. So far there are only minor deviations visible. The extensions in the deep are now escalators instead of , well, extensions. Although it's entirely possible that I'm not working with the final verson of the floor plan.
The square footage is supposed to be higher than Newberg, but a lot of it appears to be just flat concrete. As per usual, They started on the bowls first, which are pretty much done except for the flat and the top half of the cradle. The street area has some of the forms for the boxes built and the underlying grade near finished. The street area has some fun looking banks. Nothing spectacular, but it does have a lot of variety going for it. The big bowl has metal coping and the clover leaf looks like it will get pool coping. It seems about 7-8 feet at the deepest and very mellow in the shallow. The deepest end of the big bowl might be 10 feet. There's a picture with an near 6 foot person in it for scale. You can't get a sense of fit from the floor plan, but the big bowl complex has a snake run feel to it. Looks like it will be a lot of fun.
So it looks like most of the hard work is done. It's my inexpert opinion that the street stuff is probably easier to build, and those boxes and such might be able to be poured under a tarp even under heavy rain. Of course it's all guessing on my part. Weather permitting, Battle Ground looks like it could be ready to ride early 2007.
