the Dog Bowl

Yes, that legendary haunt of the Dogtown Z-boys in the last heydays of the 70’s. Immortalized in the documentary, and romanticized in the Lords of Dogtown. Skate and Annoy is proud to be the first to publish this never-before-seen shot of The Dog Bowl.

Solar Panel skateboard

This probably fake eBay auction has got to be a misguided attempt to encourage solar energy awareness. The perpetrator needs to dig deeper into the demographics of who is going to be most likely to search for “cool and stylish skateboards” on eBay. And because these things disappear after time, the text is preserved after the jump. What kind of trucks are those, Indy 415’s?

Girl Distribution Orientation Video

I guess this is old, but it was new to me, so here we are. It’s a pretty funny video spoof on corporate orientation videos done by Girl Skateboards. It gets a bit slow and sometimes they get off theme, but overall it’s pretty well done. The “orientation” takes you through a bunch of differnt aspects of the operation. Noticeably absent is the wood shop, so draw your own conclusions. The host is reminiscent of Chris Farley at times.

April Fools day

Inline skating is awesome! I’m changing the focus of this web site completely. These pictures are for viewing purposes only. No reproduction or distribution rights are granted.

Alright, I’ll fess up. I had all kinds of elaborate ideas for April Fools Day hoaxes that were brilliant until I realized it was an hour and a half away and I hadn’t executed any of them. So this is what you get.

Bmx battle

One more epic battle between skateboarders and BMX caught on video. Will it never end? Do we need to have a celebrity rap video made to stop the violence?

Hot girl tries to skate

I was in the skate park video taping my friend Tito (the small kid wearing black) when pell, my friends sister, and aweosme make-out artist, Pell gets on her skate bored and steals Titos spotlight

Yes this is a weak post, but this short video totally made me laugh, all things considered. I guess I need to create a Friday T&A category. I got the idea from EPM.

Skate safety is actually horrifying

Skate scared

Dear God! Make it stop! Please! I know we covered this government safety publication before, but I found it online right next to this nightmare inducing picture of a clown on rollerblades chasing some children. Still not safe enough? Check out this article from the Boise Weekly explaining how “How longboarding makes you faster and more dangerous on the hills.” No, I should not have said “speaking of clowns.”

Perry Bible Fellowship

The Perry Bible Fellowship is a weird little comic. Rather than do any of the work myself (Far Side on bad acid-Oops!), here’s what Publishers Weekly has to say:

Despite its name, the comic has little to do with Christianity, save the occasional strips blending the religious and the profane. With an artistic style that can vary dramatically from strip to strip, the weekly comic explores “the concept of foolhardy notions incurring terrible, unexpected outcomes” through the lens of Gurewitch’s distinctive humor, described by turns as twisted, cerebral and sweet.

The frames above are three out of four of the Perry Bible Fellowship comic titled Preach Skate. Make sure you hit the link to see the punchline.

Secrets of Skateboarding

Another huge moneymaking plan that someone else beat me to the punch on. I guess I’d better get moving on my 900 phone-skating number. Secrets of Skateboarding wants your email address, which they swear will not be sold or misused, and you gotta believe them. If you cough up your email (or any email) you can get access to the page where you get the scoop on Tony Waters’ success plan (He studied Tony Robbins!) for becoming a kickass skater. Revealed… An effective technique to improve at skateboarding without actually skating. Although the secrets apparently fit in a software box, if you buy now you’ll also get a chance to download for free, How to Shoot a Killer Skate Video. Here’s a free tip from me - Step one: Ditch the VHS camera. Then there’s what looks like the wheelchair access version of Professional Ramp Plans. How much will all this bounty cost you? Only $27, and they’ve got an affiliate program too! I need to get signed up for that. Who is Tony Waters? One Clue: “Underground Skater Finally Comes Out!” He’s still a little shy, as he only appears in one small photo wearing sunglasses in front of his mom’s garage in the suburbs. Speaking of techniques for improving your skateboarding without actually skating, some crazy fool is giving away his tips for success! Check out the video for How to be awesome at skateboarding after the jump. - Thanks to Griptape Flip and others for the tip.

Max Schaaf magnets

Unlike some people, Max Schaaf is a professional athlete who isn’t afraid to admit to using certain performance enhancers, namely magnets. I’m calling for a full Congressional inquiry. There’s nothing more important going on, right?
