Boston: Lynch Family Skatepark in Progress.

The Lynch Family Skatepark is seeing some real progress after a ceremonial groundbreaking in 2014. According to WBUR, it’s a $3 million, 40,000 square foot plan designed by California Skateparks. It’s another sizable park built under a bridge in a relatively barren area. Enjoy an animated render after the jump, or check out some construction pics from Boston Skateboarder’s gallery on facebook.

Is that a Sloppy Sam from Breaking Ground reference? What’s he doing these days? Love the bowl in Northampton, MA they did.

I’ve always thought it’s pretty ballsy to build a difficult-to-skate backyarder as the only concrete in what is basically a lame ramp skatepark. Video of it: https://youtu.be/MX5uaifLFVE

And the park they did in Bondville VT has a bowl with what I find to be a very unique design and a head-scratching mini-tranny section that’s nothing short of deadly(and in a very non-skatepark setting – you gotta love Vermont): video: https://youtu.be/iHlTGKXfogI

But the Northampton bowl is spot-on: https://youtu.be/7DCbWhwFEOc

I bet all the NW people are like “What the???” if they were to watch these videos, but this is a big deal around these parts. When is comes to skateparks, the NE ain’t the NW…
