Slasher Bootleg

This ‘Thrill Seeker’ is your typicall, cheap 80’s skateboard and it’s also a bootleg. The top design is some Jaws-like creature (I think), but the other side is definitely stolen from the Keith Meek ‘Slasher’ graphic. Found it on eBay a while ago.

On the left: original 1985 Santa Cruz Keith Meek ‘Slasher’ from artist Jim Phillips as seen on Ebay Watch March 2007, weak copy of the design on the right.

I had a cheapy complete set-up in the mid 80’s with the thrill seeker graphic on the bottom. It was more of the jaws movie poster though. The thrill seeker text was the same though. The top had some cartoon bears playing in a band or some shit. I got my dad to paint over the top graphic and put a sticker over that shit. No 10 year old skater could be seen with cartoon bears playing in a marching band on their skateboard. That board lasted a month or two. That christmas i had the powell peralta Tommy Guerrero Bonite sword and flame bought for me. Shit got real from that moment.

  3. got mine in switzerland, she was all pink from a mole shop mid 80’s,graphic and top graphic was the same (shark)
i remember the both kingpin was looking on the same direction (ridiculous) they reverse the front truck.
i found the board two week ago in the geneva skateboards museum (complete all pink with good-men wheels) was cool to see my first big board after 35 years.
1 month later i got my vision gator with gullwing truck and powell wheels. i was so happy !!
