Kool-Aid Man

Got a hot tip from BPA about vintage Kool-aid packets with the Kool-aid man on skateboard, and well, I couldn’t leave well enough alone.

First up, there are two lemonade packs from who knows when up for grabs on Ebay. Josh over at BPA tried to convince me to buy them and give him one, and I was about to until I realized that would be $15 less I would have to spend on actual skateboarding. Check out those lemon wheels!

The Kool-Aid man lemonade packets were found while researching a 7″ by Neil Smith that Josh bought. You can read that story at the excellent, and I feel separated at birth from S&A website known as Beach Party Attitude.

Although I had already featured Kool-aid man once before, my curiosity was piqued. I did some more digging and found this issue of the Adventures of Kool-aid man, from the publisher I love to hate, Archie Comics. I’ve got no idea about the insides, but this particular issue features Kool-aid man on a skateboard in the upper left hand corner, which was one of many corner illustrations in this comic. Is there a name for those? Mr BPA was quick to point out that Mr. Kool-aid has different trucks and wheels on this one.

And finally, I spotted a larger version of this setup on a sticker at CoulMn [sic.]
