Is this a thing?

Because this is what skateboarding is all about.

FOR AUCTION IS THIS VINTAGE (1950?) BUNNY RIDING A SKATEBOARD. ABOVE HIS HEAD IS A RED UMBRELLA, ATTACHED TO WHICH ARE SIX SPOKES WITH STARS AND BALLS. WIND UP THE BUNNY AND HE TRAVELS IN CIRCLES WHILE ABOVE HIS HEAD THE UMBELLA SPINS AND THE STARS AND BALLS EXTEND OUTWARD. THE PICTURES OF THIS TOY IN ACTION DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE. THIS TOY IS ALL CELLULOID, EXCEPT FOR THE SHAFT OF THE UMBRELLA, THE WHEELS AND THE HOUSING OF THE CLOCKWORK MECHANISM. IT IS IN MINT CONDITION. IT MEASURES 8” HIGH; THE SKATEBOARD IS 2.25” WIDE AND 3.5” LONG. IT WAS MADE IN JAPAN.

These stars and planets revolve around his head as he rolls on the skateboard. Maybe it’s a cartoon slam simulator.

This makes me think of Mr Hanky for some reason. I imagine that’s what his voice sounds like.

For some reason, this view looks especially sad.

And this is the last thing you will see before you die…

  1. the last sentence of the description: “made in japan”. it’s the failed creation of an eccentric toymaker lolz. i wouldn’t put that thing in my house if someone paid me (anything less than $100).

  2. He looks like he is getting ready for an original kick-flip.

  3. Don’t touch it. It might be a bomb.

  4. A true must have item, no collection is complete without it.

  5. I’m thinking this may be the amazing POS that Skate and Annoy has been wending toward, lo these many years.

    Where to now?

    1. We could have a vert vs. street debate?

      1. Or which bearings make one come faster, or whether padded carelessness or padless carefulness are for sissies. Or, we could stay right here and form a cult around this thing. And then denounce Randy on TV years from now, for brainwashing us.

The Amazing POS… wait, wasn’t that a superhero? And wasn’t his “power” that he skated?

    3. My work here is done.
