Dew Tour pushing Portland

So… an “unlocked spot” courtesy of the Dew Tour:

We’ve unlocked a cool spot for all you Portland locals to skate next Wednesday 11am at the Pioneer Courthouse Square. There’s normally no skateboarding there, but we’re hooking it up for you guys.

While I applaud the idea of lifting the ban, if only temporarily, I have to laugh at the suits at Pepsi “hooking me up.” Still, that’s a novel form of social/guerilla marketing. I wonder how much it cost to “hook us up?” ( Egads that’s awkward punctuation. Any English majors out there that can tell me what I did wrong? ) The photo on the bottom? That’s Spohn Ranch’s portable concrete bowl system being disassembled and loaded up for the trip to Portland. Grover is chomping at the bit to ride that thing.

– Thanks to Craig Smith for the tip.

  1. Am I old? Does this mean we get to ride this thing? I read that thing three times am I the only one lonely ones who does not understand. Clarification needed please.

  2. Grover,

These are sort of two stories.

1.) They are unlocking Pioneer Courthouse Square and allowing locals to skate it.

2.) That huge portable concrete Dew Bowl is on the trucks and heading our way.

They aren’t landing the bowl in Pioneer Courthouse Square or anything like that. It would be very cool if they did. I did read that the first 80 skaters to register at JC Penney

    1. Thank you for clarifying. Do I have to go to JC penny to sign up or can I can on line do it. Do you know that.

  3. Its Pepsi vs. Mountain Dew

  4. Its Mello yello vs Dr pepper. In yo face Tobes.

    1. Mello Yellow vs. Dr. Pepper, Pepsi vs. Mountain Dew? That doesn’t make any sense. It’s like Freesyle vs Slalom- how do you compare the two? It should be Mr. Pibb vs. Dr Pepper. Or Guinness vs. Murphy’s.

Hate to say it- not the best place for a skate event. It was only a couple years ago that security guard hit a skateboarder in the head with his own board just for skating there.

  6. Since it is an unlocked spot, will points be worth 2x or 3x when my power meter is at full?

  7. hopefully baca doesn’t get hit over the head from the off duty sequeerity guard again

  8. You are all wrong it is Weiner vs Dongs! who wins underware. Underware always wins! Eat it Tobes…
