Bobsled track downhill

I’ve often wondered what it would be like to ride a skateboard on a bobsled track. I always assumed it would be too fast to contain it, but that was before I contemplated what the surface was. Danny Strasser doesn’t have to wonder. He’s hit a bunch of tracks all over Europe. I wonder if these are sanctioned runs or barge sessions. I imagine after recent sad events these tracks might be harder and harder to get onto with four wheels.

On Build to Shred there is a session at a water park, riding the tubes. Its worth checking out.

  3. I saw one of these tracks in La Plagne, France this winter, they are no joke!. For a small fortune you could take a ride down in an auto-piloted sled which looked mad enough and I’ve always wondered if they’d be skateable. Fair play to this guy, anyone know what speeds he was reaching?

Do they let bikes on this run? If so, is it because of tax payer contributions? Should we care? Is this a training ground for the real thing in some natural bob sled run deep in the amazonian forest forged from tens of thousands of years of erosion. Do I like listening to myself think these things in my head while I type…? Time will only tell.
