San Francisco SoMa street plaza renders

There are a bunch of renderings of the Newline street plaza project found over at Deluxe. I don’t know if it’s the low contrast color palette or what, but I’m having a hard time getting a feel for this park. The Newline site has some renders too, but they are smaller and harder to visualize. There’s general overview of the project at the San Francisco government site, be forewarned it’s a PDF file.

– Thanks to Eric Shea for the tip – he says the new park is dangerously close to the Zeitgeist bar.

you sure it’s a skate park and not just the highway overpass taking a shit

  2. The Parks Dept. here in SF just started taking proposals for the next park after this one. It will be at Stanyan & Waller by Golden Gate Park. I’m hoping we can get Grindline or Dreamland to do it. With their combined efforts Potrero turned out amazingly well. See you at the park Eric. -Jason

  3. Right on, JD! Now that there’s a bona fide street plaza coming to town, it sure would be nice if the Stanyan & Waller park got a tight backyard replica like Lincoln City or Donald….

  4. Hey Eric, my former co-worker is now the secretary to the new head of the SF Parks Dept. I’ve been giving her the low down about how we want Dreamland and Grindline stuff not the dreaded Wormhout garbage no matter how much he lowballs. I guess the new Stanyan and Waller park will take the place of that police parking lot. See ya soon.
