Genghis skate wheel

Nice rims

Hello, I have recently developed these unique performance wheels. They are pictured being track tested by professional rider Josh Rolf at speeds in excess of 50mph. Aside from being really fast, and incredibly sweet looking, they also drift, and slide predictably and comfortably. This wheel system also allows riders to inexpensively swap out their tires in order to change appearance, and durometer. I believe this awesome wheel system would be an excellent addition to your outstanding product line. I look forward to hearing from you, and hopefully we can work something out.

First of all, this is not a new idea. You may recall there was a company that sold the same type of system for short boards in the early 2000’s (Dang! Do I write the ’00s instead?) I can’t remember the name, but Grover actually tried a set and found them craptacular. They would spin on the hub. That seems like a problem that would be easy enough to fix though. Second of all, I swear I read the word “inexpensive” in there somewhere, but at $300 for the rims and $20 per tire???? That’s not inexpensive. Good luck with that patent.

I’m not sure if a helmet would help much if your head hit one of those rocks at speed. I guess it would make clean up easier.

anyone ever skate “power core wheels” and have the “power core” accidentally “separate” from the “wheel” when they heated up? That kinda “sucks” when you’re bombing through “Newberg” (oregon’s best skatepark 5-6 years ago for about a year-and-a-half) at a “kizillion miles per hour”. I imagine these are just as rad.

Nothing new under the old sun ….

This kind of product re-appears every 5 years or so …. since the 70’s

And it’s still a good piece of crap.

Those kind of wheels are slow as hell ….

  10. These rims ARE blinging! Forget what you think you know about a skate rim concept, because these do perform, and are so blingin they would blind Flavor Flave! The patentable idea is in the rim, and it is this mechanism, which prevents the tire from a catastrophic dehubing, or other SNAFU at high speeds. Although the tires are low pros they definately DO NOT dehub or walk in a slide. Though these are not race wheels per say, they work great. Josh Rolf may not have been on them in BC, but he was on our trucks, as he was in Albuquerque too when he took 1st place by a mile!!!!

Blinging isn’t for skateboarders, it is for assheads who don’t really skate as much as they pose…….

I saw some of this guys wheels on campus the other day. They were hot! I got to ride them too, and believe me they were not “craptastic.” I went to their website, but could not buy anything… Where do you get them?

  14. Ryan Heckler on June 19, 2008 - Reply

did you try using ghengis-skate.com, they have a rad search feature that allows you to quickly sift through their mountain of product to find the item you need. but make sure you use keywords when you do the search, Turd, fecal waste, complete waste….

Ahh, you guys are just jealous that while you all are watching wordpress generated blogs all day that others are building, designing, and innovating. Those Genghis wheels look tight.

I wrote to orders@genghis-skate.com about purchasing a set after I saw them on the front page of the newspaper. Josh wrote me back, and said they had suspended their shopping cart feature on the website bc their inventory had recently been bought out. He apologized, but I was still pissed bc I want them NOW damn it!Those rimz are tight!!!

  17. Oh yeah, they are tight. Too bad the owner is a homophobic moron.

Innovate my ass, it’s not even a new idea.

The only similarity between the appearance of the patents in those claims and the Genghis wheels in the newspaper is that they are round! JKP/Heckler I’ll bet you do not even skate, you are probably too fat, too lazy, or too busy talking crap on this stupid blog between bouts of arousal, which you immediately satisfy, by clicking a tab over to some porn while you play w your pathetic dongs. I for one longboard, and think the Genghis wheel is dope! However, in the unlikely event you all are right about those wheels, I will submit a real review, critiquing their failure. Only to a different site, because this one is lame.

Dear City Districts(wow maw, I CAN spell),
    1) you longboard 2) your possibly a college student 3) do you push mongo?

  27. Yeah I guess your right, an inline skate wheel hub with treads you can replace is a lot different than a skateboard wheel on a hub with a tire you can replace.

JKP, comments like your last illustrate perfectly why Pontiac was able to perpetuate sales of their Aztec for so many years, or even create it in the first place. You see, some people are perfectly happy driving a total piece of shit. These folks have no problem advertising to the whole world that they enjoy being a tasteless douche, at least until they encounter a Benz, Ferrari, or Lambo at a stoplight. This is when they realize utter defeat, stare mediocrity right in the face, and come to terms with the fact there are pleasures at many stoplights that are not just beyond their comprehension, but forever beyond their reach. Go ahead and enjoy the simple things, you know like making mongo references, wishing you had some balls, etc., etc. Personally, I like things that push the boundaries of form and function to a higher plateau.

you are so incredibly full of yourself considering you’ve been skating all of what, 10 years? There are a ton of people on this board who’ve been skating 30+ years. So I tell you what junior, take a step back, sit down, shut up and chill. Let the adults talk please.

  31. I actually think the wheels are kinda cool(seriously). But at $380, that’s a LOT of other skate gear I can buy… sorry. But keep up the great customer service and public relations work…

Gosh, I sure wish I had some balls…maybe if I could afford the finer things in life like a ferrari. Or if I bought my way onto the bandwagon of some jock-ass-oakly wear’n over-glorified luge crap with fancy lookin’ rimzzzz. They are real panty pealer’s, holmes.

Sheesh, fuck your cash and expensive taste.

Accomplish something and stand on your own, make a statement.

You cant buy your way into that and its priceless.

Get a used deck from a friend, jump in on a game of hooligan soccer with some chicano’s at your local park. Learn something raw that teaches you how to meet different people, not patronise them.

  33. Ryan Heckler on June 20, 2008 - Reply

are you shitting me, 380$ for a set of skateboard wheels, some people just assume that a higher price tag means a better product. You need to find a website where they tell you how to spend 500$ to reduce that 1/1000″ of an inch shim on your slalom board’s axle, maybe those type of people would give a dead rats ass about your shitty overpriced, unoriginal ideas.

  34. enemy combatant on June 20, 2008 - Reply

    WTF?

  35. GENTLEMAN AND A SKATER on June 20, 2008 - Reply

Yeah, I was refering to non-league games played at parks in AZ, it aint the Scottish there so if you want in, you’ll be playing w/hispanics/”chicanos” most likely.

As far as “oakly’s”, I dunno, I pictured them fitting right in with that helment and, um, tightsuit being donned above. And “holmes” is slang.

Fuck, Im hungover, and it 8am, apologies if my point was lost in some incoherent language.

Whoever designed these horrible, slow rip offs should be fired. I rode these down the stadium and around campus only to be truly dissapointed. Ride Orangatangs or if you really want a large silly wheel ride abec 11s, at least they are fast, grippy, and resist flatspotting compared to these pos.

  48. umm, the owner of genghis has not been skating for ten years, and he was the one making those posts, not Josh Rolf. So please, don’t think Rolf is full of himself, he agreed to help make crappy wheels so he could make good trucks.

Good work on callin out the marketing schemes, I love that shit!

also, try garbage in the search field to find genghis products, might help.

  49. Great Idea! Excellent

  50. i would like to get some of those so what can you work out email me back please

  51. Hey Guys,
I was wondering how the Rims were selling ? Or have you decided to drop this idea.If you are still making them and need a distributor to push them maybe we can work together. I’m a firm believer of cool stuff ,but it has to work and be competitive in the real downhill world contact me if you want to continue..
