Paranoid Park trailer

There’s a new trailer for Gus Van Sant’s Paranoid Park movie. Lots of skateboarding and local Portland shots. Not a bad trailer actually, kind of makes me want to see the movie, no matter what Grover says. I think his badmouthing of Elephant was the reason we were “out of the loop” when the movie was in production. I actually got a call for assistance from Van Sant’s assistant, who it turns out was related to a friend of the family. We talked and everything seemed fine until… nothing. I was puzzled until I realized Grover made fun of Elephant in a GVK that was current at the time. Who knows, they probably just didn’t need anything. – Thanks to G N for the tip.

I nabbed these stills from the Apple movie trailers site. They’ve got higher res trailers you can download if you cant hang with the YouTube compression.

Good news for Portlanders! it looks like they’ve moved the Baldy Pipeline to Oregon.

Hold on, wrong bridge. Looks like they meant this for the Pier Park movie.

A school with a very lenient skateboarding in the halls policy.

It’s hard to tell from the few frames of this that appear in the trailer, but it looks like part of the DIY street park set up in the parking lot of the school where Van Sant shot Elephant. The same spot that is the subject of this post.

Seems like I’ve seen that cross bracing structure somewhere before…
