Patrick Melcher - Death video

Choose Death

The Death video parts that pop up on the Interwebs seem to get people talking. This Patrick Melcher spot is no exception. I thought he was on Black Label but apparently he chose Death, no matter how angry that makes Wham! (80’s time warp again, bad kind.) This video has something for everyone unless you are a humorless twat. Street, tranny, break dancing, rails and even slalom… I wish all video parts were like this one. I included the Richie Jackson spot at the end as well, just to jog your memory.

  1. I’ve always like the way that Patrick Melcher skates. Check out that BL tour video.

    Wow, great finds.

  6. I’d never seen either guy before (then, I’m not exactly what you’d call “current” in terms of street video parts…). Really unique skating. Loved it.

Patrick’s part is cool, having a street skater’s part without any kick/heel flip tricks and still be wowed is a refreshing thing.

  8. this part is really good.

  9. Death have been on it over here for a while. Seriously all about the fun them lot. They’ll drive miles to skate a curb or a 1ft high transition.
Check out their Big Push (UK version of KOTR) part from 06, featuring Ricky Oyola.(No idea how they pulled that off!)

  10. Damn thats good … really does feel like ‘real’ STREET skating, rather than most of the stuff you see, which seems more like extreme freestyle.

brilliant stuff. The Richie Jackson stuff is insane, but this is just as good.

  12. I’m sure I’ll get called on this with the old “who cares who he is, its how he skates” comment but the guy is a first rate douchebag. You don’t get kicked off Black Label for nothing…

  13. Yeah.. that’s a lot of hearsay, unless you have some personal knowledge you’d like to share?

I don’t follow roster hopping, so I didn’t hear if he quit or got fired, or what the circumstances were.

    His segment is rad though.

Hey Eric Cherry – there is at least one kickflip in there if you look closely, plus another flippy impossible type dismount from a rail… I got nothing against kickflips, I just like a little variety

  14. Don’t forget the other great British Skate company, Heroin. There videos are class also….

  15. Are Dainton and Pritch still on Death?

I’ve heard the same thing. Apparently he wasn’t missed when he left chicago. . .

  17. the zaroch part rips…you should post it up kilwag..

That was some awesome shit from Melcher. As for the phuckin hippie he can go smoke a pole…

  19. I like hippies more than skater “Thugs” wanna be. Can’t stand the stupid gangsta shit…hey kid, you’re white and you don’t live in the hood, can you please pull up your oversized jeans?

  20. That hippie is rad.

  21. almost getting hit by that bus scared the shite out of me.

  22. P. Melcher innovation on street is a sight to see. Reminds me of Jason Adams. One of a kind style.
