Wes Humpston – Kat Von D collaborate for charity.
Wes Humpston and Kat Von D got together to design a skateboard on Kat’s tv show LA Ink. Supposedly they are going to have a whole line of boards, although it seems more like something that was cooked up just for TV. The first hand drawn original board is being auctioned on eBay to benefit the Tony Hawk Foundation. My DVR didn’t pick up that episode, but someone else’s did. In the beginning of the design process there’s a funny bit where Kat says, “What should we put in the inside?” and Wes responds with “I like to do skulls and stuff.” Didn’t see that one coming. You can see the board in detail and watch the episode after the jump. It hasn’t been edited to show only Wes’ bits (get your mind out of the gutter), but hey, I didn’t have to do anything. The auction ends Friday, November 16 at 6 PM (PST). I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Kat is slightly more photogenic than Wes.

There’s a lot of filler here. On YouTube it’s broken down into 5 parts, these are the only one’s I’ve watched. I’m going to have to try and pick up a repeat and edit out all the other stuff.

She’s a turn-off, the second she opens her mouth you can tell she has spent way too much of her time “trying to fit in with the boys”. Lester Bangs yes, “cool” people like this no.
every BDS graphic looks the same to me. I don’t dig this at all.
I did like how the the negative space of the wings were also silhouettes of pert breasts. Was that her being pawed by David Letterman the other night? That woman seemed to have more tattoos including some pretty photorealistic portraits.
I agree with you 110% neil – never liked the same rhetoric he has been putting on boards over the last 20 years either. Wheelwells? pfft stop being a pussy wheelbites are good for you.
Concave combined with wheel wells are where it’s at. That way you can run 62mm wheels on Indys without risers and get no bite!
I like wheelbite, the more I get it, the more character it builds…
