Leather skateboard

Fur real?

Frank 151 has collaborated with French luxury leather goods craftsman and designer Jacques Ferrand to release limited edition ostrich and crocodile skin skateboard decks with the Frank151 brand. I’m going to call bullshit on these, and I’m going to do it smugly while sitting at a desk wearing leather tennis shoes. What’s next, Snow Leopard decks just so you can show off your bling? How shallow can you get?

90’s teenager culture meets the classic french elegance!

Lame. Lame. Lame. Very lame. Thanks to JF for the tip.

  1. But “yes” to Vision’s animal skins??

  2. Yes. I don’t think you understand. These decks actually have ostrich and crocodile skin on them, not just prints.

  3. Hey, that crocodile would eat you in a second.

  4. That wouldn’t slide for shit.

  5. uh, i don’t think you’re supposed to actually ride them…

  6. The Ostrich one looks kinda cool but what’s the point? lamo.

  7. i want one with either muppet or human skin

  8. I will only ride decks that are covered with the skin of an endangered animal. Ostrich skin? Please, there’s like a million of those. How is anyone supposed to take me seriously at Tigard with ostrich skin?

  9. I can totally see you Chris rock the Ostrich deck with your snakeskin skateshoes.

  10. they would sound lame on lien to tails…

The hippies are gunna be soooo pissed! ooooooooh…

  14. It is so interesting that the concept of skin on anything is relatively acceptable but the second its a human skin it is taboo. Why do most people draw such a distinct line between Homo sapiens and all the other species? Example: pro-life would be more accurately described as only pro-human life. It is ironic that Homo sapiens is the very “godless beast” that it tries so desperately to seperate itself from.

  15. There’s a huge vegan can of PETA worms that can be opened here. I eat animals and wear animals too, so I’m no saint. I just found it a little vulgar to harvest animal skins for skateboards purely for the sake of vanity. You can’t even argue a performance bias.

These may not even be really for sale, you have to contact them for information if you are interested, which probably means they made a couple examples and are just… wait for it… fleshing it out.

  16. Actually my point was not that other animals are as “important” as us; it was that we are as “unimportant” as they are…Cow shoes, human shoes its all the same….see what I am saying?
