Urban Series modular skate park

An alternate reality

You can buy fake fire hydrants for your dog to pee on, why not for a skatepark as well? Skatewave, the modular skatepark company you love to hate, has a line of skate obstacles called the Urban Series for simulating objects that you can, well, already buy. I’m sure they’ll argue that their knockoffs are more durable, although that fire hydrant looks weak compared to some of the heavy duty ones in the dog link above. At first I only noticed the tables. I thought it was funny that they made real fake (or fake real) tables for skateboarding, especially the one that is closed off to protect beginners. The simulated construction barrier with a metal top may actually be an improvement on those orange plastic ones. If only they sold a simulated Natas to do that fire hydrant ollie spin move. Watch it after the jump.

Natas in Streets on Fire

I always forget that it’s Streets on Fire and not that old semi cool Streets of Fire movie. William Dafoe had a crazy motif going on in that movie, which looked good but had some very weak music in it.

Fire hydrant fun! The Natas Spin. Actually, I caught that Blind video What If from a few years back on Fuel the other day. They had a kid who did that trick. It only took ten plus years for someone to duplicate it! I don’t think he used his hands for balance, but the fire hydrant has a big flat round spot on top like a post. Natas’s hydrant is all pointy.

  1. Talk about fuckin’ style one of the most historicly under rated skaters. Creative and functional. With all the old flare, I wish street skaters of today would try even mimicing anything old Natas could pull of smiling. p.s. fence plants hell ya!!!

yeah I agree about Natas ripping, although I wouldn’t say he was underrated at all. In fact pretty much everyone holds him in high regard.
