Our senior Mexico City transplant correspondent (Senior, and Señor) John Aguilar sent in these pics of Dreamland construction going on in Bellingham Washington. This is phase 2 of an existing skate park built by Purkiss Rose It’s a Grindline design that apparently dates back to March of 2006. The rendering shows what appears to be a relatively shallow beginners area. It’s hard to tell from the photos but it appears that they might be digging something deeper than that. The pictures below are from the City of Bellingham, Washington web site page devoted to the new addition to the skatepark. They apparently have 200k worth of funding. Curiously, the status is listed as “Re-bidding 2007.”
Here’s an alternate view of the plan from a Grindline letter to the City of Bellingham, which you can download from here.

Just to add fuel to the fire, here’s some renderings of The Bellingham skatepark hidden on the Grindline site. The current Purkiss Rose design is what beat this out. Go figure. I don’t have to tell you which one would have been more fun.
