Why is this man skating a miniramp?

The Donald bowl is one of my favorite things to skate. Last weekend I planned an excursion that avoided Pier Park. Marek, Smay, Rich, Fendick and I planned to skate West Linn skatepark and then some of us would continue on to Donald.

West Linn was mostly dry but when we got to Donald, we found the bowl wet. The current white paint job has been the subject of controversy due to slipperiness. I had skated it a few time with no problems other than being visually offended.

Chris Nukala and Kyle Bunker were there to shoot some photos and then pressure wash the bowl. Half the bowl was wet but it was totally undetectable unless you got in there. They warned us but Marek jumped in goofing around and wilsoned to a tweaked ankle. The bowl was trip-to-the-hospital slippery and unskateable even after we towelled it.

I would advise extreme care when entering that bowl. Once that white paint is gone it may be better but I would check it before dropping in – especially the shady side in both the shallow and deep end. Even standing at the bottom I could not see that it was wet.

Kyle put some time in with the pressure washer while we tried to beat outselves to death on the mini. Thanks for you hard work, dude.
