We Jam Econo: The Story of the Minutemen

We Jam Econo

The Minutemen. I think the first time I ever heard them was on a Skate Rock compilation. They were always championed by Thrasher. The DVD of the documentary has been out for a while. MC weighs in with a review of the 2 disc DVD, which you can buy from the web site along with some pretty cool looking skateboards that say it all. Check it out.

Randy, you didn’t see them with me at Mabels? Where the fuck were you that night?

  2. Nice review MC. I went to the screening last year at the Clinton Street Theater and met the directors. My “econo” t-shirt is one of my favorites. These same guys are working on a documentary about DIY skateparks. Hopefully it’s as good as “We Jam Econo.”

  3. Cool review Mark, I agree Doule Nickels is one of favorite records too…If you haven’t read it already, Rollins’ “Get in Van” has some revealing stories about the Minutemen. Most of which detail chronic Watt vs. Boone petty arguements that would escalate to nuclear proportions in the confines of the van…I can relate.

  4. Neil… Hmmm. Dunno. If I was there I don’t exactly remember it. Hell of a thing to forget huh?

  5. I just got a copy of this myself. Great review MC! I have watched it 3 times already.

Helluva thing to talk w/ Watt in person too, looking like an old man. Where did you get your copy, Thor? Double nickels by far is the best, Tho I miss my vinyl copies of project mersh & 3 way..good review tho, Mark.
    RIP, D.Boon
