The review of Mingus Park, also known as Coos Bay, is deep and smooth with fast coping. The street area has yet to be developed. When you pull up, it looks like a 1950′s flying saucer. The pool is deep and fast. The shallow end is a hero’s drop in. The deep end is fun and easy to ride. This is the link between Reedsport and Port Orford. You can now skate yourself silly on the coast hitting a park every half hour. There were about a hundred people skating on Saturday, the day after it officially opened. I would like to thank the Mayor for his hand-written invitation to Mingus Park. Hope to see him next time I drive through. P.S. Surrounding the park are baseball fields and tennis courts; none of them used.
Eight great iPhotos after the jump. Thanks to EPM for the gorgeous shot of yours truly. He’s got some more shots of Matt Kline killing it.

Yo, loyal viewers. Here is just the opposite of the big pool party (Protec) in California, The second Burnside non-test. No stars, no free guitars, just local skate studs and mall graders. This thing really felt like some sort of family reunion. Even though I do not ride there that much anymore, people are always welcoming. I was only there for about a half hour so I am sure I missed a ton of good footage, but here is what I captured.
P.S. What is Q’s secret for such a strong looking body?

I can’t believe anyone still wants to see this besides me and my friends. I had the day off so I decided to finish the 1st of the Spring Break (09) series. It may be the last also. There are a lot of parks and riders in here, I bet you cant name them all. Consider it a GVK challenge. That ought to boost my internet rating. Winner gets a personal dinner with the editor clothing optional! – GVK Adios.

So am I legit now. I interviewed a piece of skateboard history and future. Whether you know it or not, Bryce Kanights has touched your skateboard life in some way, be it reading, riding or looking at a magazine for the photos. Bryce was there for most of the boom of vert and has been in it since; when you were taking your snowboarding break he was skating and still involved with Thrasher. If you mention the most random skater he has a story. Very few people can make a living off this industry – the photo side anyway – but he has perfected his craft and shoots all the skate stars from Duane Peters to Brent Atchley. So here is my interview of Mr. Bryce Kanights. A brief glimpse into his stuff.
P.S. Eat it if you do not like the audio. Who can afford a microphone in this economy? – G.V.K. OFF

Here is part one of Trifecta (08), Rando got to see the rough version and could barley sit through it because of the music. At that moment I knew I had done something Good. “In your Face” So If I missed you name let me Know so I can add it in. The best Trifecta ever. I am watching kids grow up and become great skaters. Someday I will walk into a skate shop with my son and say we watched that guy at the Trifcta Now he is bigger than Ryan Schekler but not as lame. – Pose Grover out?

I have been sitting on this footage for sometime, I stumbled on it the other day while doing some cyber house cleaning and decided to make a GVK out of it. I really like skating with these guys they are a good krew. My old friend Earth Patrol Media was manning the moving picture box, we were originally going to do dueling videos to see what the other guy would do with the same footage, who knows maybe old EPM will still do it I hope he does. Enjoy. GVK OUT…

So Rich of E.P.M. and myself managed a couple press passes out of the A.S.T. crew. As it turns out, video was not allowed, that only slowed me down a couple of times. They threatened to kick me out. I shouted “Do you know who I am?” Apparently they had not heard of G.V.K.. Talk about living under a rock, or not really being involved in skateboarding. (the riding side). You may notice a difference in video quality. That is because I checked out a Get HI Def video camera from the E.P.M. library. Wow, what a difference. Watch out Mack Dawg productions. Well this video made me want a vert ramp so bad. How about you? P.S. I went to San Diego and skated the ramp at the Y.M.C.A that where 80 percent of these guys ride. Vert is dying and becoming incestuous. Lets build some f-king ramps and take it back bizzellitch.. - Poser off.

So my old friend Dr. Krohn has a birthday, the day after this video premiers. His age will remain a mystery, much like the type under ware he wears. I have known this guy for a while and I can’t believe he made it this far. (Many of my friends quit skating) With all the money in the world, (he rivals some of the Sheiks in Dubai as far as wealth is concerned,) you would think he would have his own Sno-Cone machine. He keeps it real though by cruising a cold war stick and a vanagon 91-carat “polar3”. Happy birthday, “WOLFSBLOOD”.
P.S. Concentrate on landing more.

Let me introduce my friend Eric. The reason I call him my friend is because when I asked him if he would like to be sponsored, he replied “I have skateboard. How about we just be friends?” My reply was “Cheap and easy. Lets get married.” Every time I go to Newberg, Eric is skating doing some weird ass trick I wish I could do. If my hard drive didn’t crash this video would be 3x longer and 6x better. Who the hell knew the hard drive needs a back up? Who backs up the back up?

Hello from G.P.K. (Grover’s Photo Korner) I went to so-cal and the skating is lame except for a few parks you know which ones… They are Encinitas, Clairemont, but you can only ride those certain hours and you pay every where except W.S.V.T. Oh yeah they also have a state wide age minimum of 6 years and above, so my son also learned to lie on his trip to California. Yes “to lie” not “to ollie.”
