I used to think Pink Flamingos and Female Trouble were very atmospherically creative til I got briefly stuck in east? Baltimore on my way elsewhere once… and it made them John Waters movies seem a little bit like documentaries. (Though okay, the hulking women sitting on their front steps in their bras weren’t transvestites, and weren’t eating shit, but still….)
