Miami Skatepark Needs Your Help!

The City of Miami skateboard park is under attack by well connected political elites. Check out Miamiskaters.com and join their Facebook group to find out what you can do to help. There is an event to support the park on Monday, July 19th which is detailed past the jump.

Who: People who live in South Florida that are in support of building a world class concrete skateboard park in the City of Miami
What: Free skate session, t-shirt, dinner, and a movie
Where: One Cool World Skatepark (2820 McFarlane Road) and City of Miami City Hall (3500 Pan American Drive)
When: 5:00 at One Cool World Skatepark and 6:30 at City of Miami City Hall
Why: Because there are no decent concrete skateparks within 2 hours of Miami

The first 100 people receive a free t-shirt (white or black)

  1. good luck. i really hope you guys get a park. it really should be a must for any urban area in todays u.s. the concrete park here in houston has been a great success and an asset to the city. I’m sure it would be the same in miami. it took alot of hard work by skaters tho to get it done here tho. again good luck.

  2. i would like to add a big fuck disneyWhatever as a whole but a world class skate park (thats free hopefully) is still an asset to any major metro area, ya know keeps kids outta trouble and old dudes away from frisbee golf.. or worse real golf….

  3. Its Florida, Mickey rules everything here.

This is a very offensive remark. We don’t need Stukas ANYwhere in Miami. They are a nuisance.

  5. That t-shirt looks like it belongs to a nail salon or plastic surgery center.

ok I understand the need to raise money at a benefit but why would you play a disney movie at that said benefit?? is it because they want little kids and their parents to come? what ever works I guess. good luck!

    1. We aren’t raising money for anything, the whole thing is free even the shirts. It is all about showing City Hall the strength and organization of the skateboarding community. Believe me, if we were choosing the film, it would have been almost anything but the one that is going to be shown, but the City made the terms for the event. Monday evening is a terrible time/day to have it too. Nothing we could do but suck it up and deal with it.
