He does all his own stunts

I’m captivated by this still frame from a Jackie Chan movie. It’s hard to tell, but he’s on a skateboard. It will be more clear when you see the other 29 frames per second. I’m not sure what movie this is from, but it looks like the 90′s as Jackie still kind of younger looking. It looks like it’s going to be pretty straight forward action until mid way through where it suddenly goes over the top. Look for gratuitous flip tricks during a high speed chase. Chan does his own stunts, he probably learned to skate for this movie. Some shots are definitely a stunt double though.

- Thanks to Hung for the tip.

    City Hunter! (I love that – movie http://www.drunkenfist.com/movies/hong-kong/caught-in-the-middle-of-a-five-way-mix.php#city_hunter )

He’s also got a “freestyle” type section in Wheels on Meals. All of that one is clearly Jackie.

He snowboards in First Strike (Supercop 4) and while a lot of it is clearly him, “he” switches foot for all the big airs.

here’s the Wheel on Meals clip,
I have doubts that it’s all Jackie,
      I am betting skate double…

btw, anyone notice the skaters were playing skate hockey with field hockey sticks?

    That was funny!

Great movie.. and even though the skate part seems a bit cheezy, I think its actually meant to be funny. In one of the fight scenes they start to fight like video game characters (Street fighter, I think). Good balance of tongue in cheek with action.

Hook and the Daggers in Asia?

This is more awesome Jackie action, even if it is on quads. It doesn’t get really good until about 1:40.

I’d heard about wheels on meals and was told Jackie actually skated and was rad, but I’ve never seen it. This was so disappointing. It’s clearly not him in most of it and in one close up in the freeway chase he is clearly on rollerskates or worse, uugghh, blades. He also pulls the same trick in this as he does on the snowboard, of switching stance for the big tricks. hmm. Gotta love a bit of Jackie though. Gonna go hunting for wheels on meals now.

  8. mb says:

Rad is somewhat of an overstatement. Mullen he ain’t.

i want to see the video clip of the real ‘meals on wheels’ girls. you creaky bastards know exactly what photo set i’m talking about.

Maybe you should change the name of the site to Skate ‘n’ Captivate.

Weird, the crashing through the windows scene has them all riding flat pictures of skateboards.
